Will CLiT ever return? *Charlton Life independent Travel*

edited January 2018 in Match Day Travel
It's been many moons since the last well travelled game, either in Ginger @MCS Hawaiians to Derby or elsewhere as something else...

So where should be next?

In what attire?

Great days out. My old man was never really into football when he was younger but started to come with me more regularly around that time. He came to Yeovil, Derby & Ipswich on the CLIT coach and remember him saying to me at the time that he "got" why I was into it so much. More for the laughs with friends than the football itself.

I remember the day out to Yeovil ....... the gales, the monsoon, all of us bedraggled, the day I became Soggy Red.
The wind was so strong their keeper took a goalkick, the ball did a u-turn trapped against the wind and immediately was blown out of play behind him.

Sam Sodje got sent off in the 1st half, we went a goal down - before brother Akpo came on as halftime sub and immediately scored an equaliser.
We then camped in their half and missed a hatful of chances.

Good session in the pub beforehand singing Charlton songs, and packed behind the goal - except those who went back to the coach at halftime to dry out.

CLiT was Curb_it's baby, I seem to remember?

She and a couple of others did all the hard work to organise it.

I was back on the coach at half time, I took the precaution of brining a spare set of clothes. The pub with the hog roast was great, run by @Curb_It mate (Heather??)

I remember the stories of that pub, shame I couldn't make it!

(I only did the Derby one, but that was fantastic playing cricket outside with stewards during halftime, having Elliott & Shelvey tell us the score multiple times, Silly string sprayed over stewards and then the Derby fans rushing our end as the result confirmed their safety!)

And the massive order of takeaway chips in the pub outside Derby. If I remember rightly Nathan Prior was on the coach but hadn't brought any money with him.

You're correct. He had a good time, I remember him asking us for drinking money, didn't he rock up late too?!

I also remember my brother and another poster's son sneaking off from the pub to get the silly string and returning with 6 cans of the stuff!

@Curb_it did deserve a pint for all her hard work tbf

I took a change of clothes and changed at the back of the coach. hilarious pics of us in the 2nd half refusing to be beaten by the rain even though it was blinding us.

my coat was still wet after drinking in the Albert in bexleyheath afterwards when i put it on to go home.

I didnt organise the coaches. I just organised the pub before the Yeovil game. And I missed it as had to go to Tipp for a funeral. My friend gave up that beautiful pub... I still miss it.

When things are on the up we should deffo do one.

Did you give him some in return for a sexual favour?
I hope not, as I will consider that cheating and will no longer be able to see you.
