Another Shooting In America?

Breaking news is another mass shooting just carried out in the states.0
-
Just reported on R5L that there has been another shooting, this time in Ohio.0
-
Usual tweets and statements from Trump and others saying "thoughts and prayers with El Paso", "terrible tragedy" etc etc, absolutely nothing will be done about it, then in a week it'll all be forgotten about.
Said this many times before, but if the US wasn't prepared to wake up and sort out their gun laws after Sandy Hook 7 years ago, then it never will.
"More than 200 state-level gun laws have passed since Sandy Hook, but every major attempt at federal legislation has failed".2 -
Reports saying at least 7 killed so far and more injured.Chippycafc said:Breaking news is another mass shooting just carried out in the states.0 -
Loony tune conspiracy web sites still push that Sandy Hook was a put up job and actors used and people paid off to keep the secret. What’s even more shocking is that an awful lot of people believe it.0

Not sure what the problem is.
Am sure most Americans accept this as an acceptable price to pay now and then to protect their rights.

Like a lot of things American. Travel 50 miles inland from the coast and attitudes are very different. Not just about gun law either.0
-
Apparently the 250th mass shooting of 2019 in the US and it's only day 215 of the year.

I agree with this .. and the truth is probably that any nutter, grudge holder, terrorist or suicidal maniac who is determined enough, has planned carefully and has access to automatic weapons and/or TNT, is able to cause mayhem and inflict heavy casualties almost anywhere where lots of people congregate. Nowhere is safe, no shopping malls, churches, 'festivals', college campuses, concerts. Security will always get better, but there is only so much that can be done to ensure the safety of the 'general public'MrOneLung said:Not sure what the problem is.

Me and Jnr were in Texas last summer and nicer people you couldn't wish to meet.
There is a definite split in attitudes though between the over 50s and the young. Hopefully the young can force something to happen regarding gun control.0 -

Hopefully Trump can focus on the Muslim terrorist threat...3

This video shows the lunacy of the US in just 2 mins.
RIP to those who died, thoughts to those injured and affected, but sadly I cant see anything changing.0 -
What gets me about that is the amount of Brits who are pro Trump and wave the star spangled banners at protests.Huskaris said:Trump's probably too busy tweeting about Sadiq Khan losing control of London's streets to comment.

“I was very shocked” - quote from local resident at latest shooting.
Given the numbers of mass shootings averaging more than one a day this year alone. how can anyone be shocked?0 -
Another young white right-wing male terrorist.
Apparently the El Paso shooter sent out a manifesto about the 'takeover of Texas by Hispanics' and was a Trump supporter. Surprise surprise.1 -
and this type of thing gives cause for concern in the UK

Yeah, this cannot go unnoticed. This was YET ANOTHER shooter who was an open white supremacist and Trump supporter.SELR_addicks said:Another young white right-wing male terrorist.

Also, brought in to police custody safely.1 -
Why? What's the connection to what's happened overnight in the US? These handguns were almost certainly for use by organised criminals and the illegal drugs trade.Lincsaddick said:and this type of thing gives cause for concern in the UK

Ban guns. Simple solution. All this prayers and thoughts rubbish is idiotic.
Ban guns and you will materially reduce the number of shootings. Anything else is just cognitive dissonance and waffle.

The El Paso shooting is terrorism, plain and simple. I imagine it will be passed off as someone with 'mental issues' though.6

He was "taken into custody without incident" and without any law enforcement officers firing their weapons, according to El Paso Police Department Sgt. Robert Gomez. He later told investigators he wanted to shoot as many Mexicans as possible, two law enforcement officials told ABC News.

This is taken from the El Paso shooter's Twitter profile. It may give a clue as to his political stance.

Whereas an unarmed black man can be shot dead by cops despite following instructions exactly. Strange that.SELR_addicks said:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9AXGPo1vvM&feature=youtu.be

Imagine the carnage if we had the same level of gun ownership in the UK. I doubt Brexit would have been delayed....0
