Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours (ed. Pg 296 - Start of Deadline Day)

  • Based on his Arsenal career and the few loans he has had, Bielik is not a 10m player.

However, his performances at the U21 Euro's have no doubt made clubs sit up and take notice and take a gamble on him. If he does well then he'll be worth double that next summer and may even make the Poland squad for Euro 2020.

If he was English, there's no way Arsenal would be selling him.

I can't believe Derby (if that's where he's going) will pay 10m outright, maybe an initial 5-6m with add ons based on appearances/promotion/international caps etc.

Every day that goes by makes me think of previous transfer windows, last summer SG and LB worked a miracle on a budget, that is not likely to be repeated. That budget has stayed the same making it harder to achieve their previous wonders.
I think we will end up with some last minute, desperation loans and not much else now. I hope I am wrong but I can't see much more happening.
Crikey Roly's ownership is turning me into Golfie.

What is concerning is as time goes on, the prospect of not getting anybody in or desperate deals that are no better than what we have looms. The players we need are the sort you have to hold out for and we saw in the January window how your plans can blow up in your face if you can't get them over the line.
  • Just had a look at our squad on transfermarkt, it's absolute nonsense.

    Phillips valued at 50k.
Dijksteel, Lapslie and Morgan valued at 0.
    Taylor valued at 300k.
    JFC valued at 1m.
Bonne valued at 100k, even though he cost 200k just a few weeks ago.

Bloody hell, keep it to transfer rumours eh?
  • Could Lee Catermole do a job still?  Would give experience, out of contract, knows he wont get the wage he once did.  Maybe would not move South?

Exactly, it is nonsense yet people like @serio@seriously_deluded use it to back up their fantasies.

There is no point getting bogged down in detail, it is just an indicator. One that puts us firmly where we know we are.

What move south and take a 95% drop in wages?

Never played down south and was on 40k a week at Sunderland.

You think he'd move 300 miles away for 5k a week?

Pratley is better... Cattermole was invisible at Wembley for all his experience

Twitter post saying we're finally signing someone today - they've said they're not sure what people will make of it though and in a reply to someone have mentioned Harriott

There really isn’t any rumours is there?  The ITK’s are ridiculously quiet, even the wannabe ITK’s we’ve not heard a peep.  Pratley and a recovering JFC chasing shadows at Ewood park it is, RD you dick.

Looks like it sadly. When you go to Blackburn, there is a  genuine line of depression, where you can feel you are entering the shithole of the country. When you align that with watching a far, far weaker team than that which got you promoted struggling against a bang average side. It doesn't seem the most enticing of trips to me. Even allowing for pre-season excitement

Having harriet will be good hes a capable player at this level. We do need a defensive midfielder though. Ir we need lapslie to make the step up. Currently I csnt see how Morgan can be loaned out

Napa swears by it, also the correlation between wages and where teams finish. A load of bollocks really, look at Leicester when they won the Premier league and that's just an extreme example, Sunderland last year is a better one.

Will be down to whoever we have whether they are good enough!

Fingers crossed we get someone today, here's hoping...

If it is Harriott, I wonder how many people will manage to spell his surname right? It is a tough name to grasp.....

Doesn’t feel like a New Signing that gets the numbers up if it is him as he’s been training with us and playing in the team anyway. We need 5 or 6 brand new additions to the current staff urgently.

As the easiest to get over the line that one would reiterate that we are struggling mightily to bring in any kind of serious championship level signing

I assume he will be competing with Lockyer for the role of this season's scapegoat

Not even the video scoreboard managed it against Villa!

Harriott is a given in my book. He's been training with us for 3 weeks & has played in almost all of the the pre-season games.

I think Haricot will be a reasonable signing. Only 25 so definitely not a has bean
Better than Fonsu and Ventokele though.
