(Serious question) - what sort of things are the museum raising funds for? Specific stuff or just general?0

To get enough money to pay Callum Harriott to not sign for us.Arsenetatters said:(Serious question) - what sort of things are the museum raising funds for? Specific stuff or just general?5 -

We raise funds for
Running costs. These are fairly low but fixing items, paying for transporting items, postage, membership of bodies, alarm systems.
Capital equipment. Computers, scanners, boxes, etc. Our biggest need is bigger and better display cabinets and a big scanner.
New items. We buy very little as most stuff is donated or loaned by generous fans but we have a pre- 1950 policy were we pay for items from before then such as Seth Plum's England cap from 1923, the first ever international cap won by a Charlton player which cost £1200

We now compete to buy museum quality items, medals, Seth Plums England cap, programs from the 20's. We also need IT kit & website costs (this is undergoing a major overhaul currently)
In addition we are trying to upgrade display cabinets as everything we have has been borrowed or re-cycled.
The museum is still 100% a fan led initiative, the club allow us space rent free, (it is commercially unviable so we are unlikely to be moved out), but everything else we pay ourselves from funds we raise.
We have come along way from when we first discussed it/set it up 4/5 years ago. Sadly we no longer have space for peoples PL programs but still take any donations of items we dont have either on loan or permanently.5 -
Should get about £530 from the Somme trip.4

We recently acquired 15 programmes from the early 1930's which cost us £850 and a new display cabinet which was another £8504
