    Vince......FFS!
  • Fuck off Vince, hopefully the last time we see him in the side.
  • Vince just isn't good enough
  • A side that looked to bat really deep now looks thin when you consider Vince and Ali are walking wickets.

We need to claim Vince has an injury and get someone else in...

It’s not having that opener that kills you. Vince may get us knocked out.

    That's it we're done.
  • 127 all out.
  • Hopefully the team doctor has just diagnosed a tournament ending injury for Vince, and Hales will be arriving at training tomorrow.

"Great news from Lord's, play starts on time!"

    15 minutes later

"And that's the 3rd wicket gone as Root edges behind for 5"
    I wasn't far wrong...
  • Going to end up relying on results elsewhere to make the semi's at this rate.

The opening bowlers were consistently too short and Morgan just lets them get on with it.
Then when the batsmen start finding their timing and a few gaps captain Morgan moves the field defensively, to protect the bowlers' bad bowling.  The ball was doing a bit, 4 bowlers have genuine pace but the sap lets the Aussies off the hook.  Yes Aus had a stroke or two of good fortune but rather than pressurising them while they're struggling, they're given time and space to find a way.  The fact that they accumulated at a fairly steady rate suggests that scoring freely ain't straightforward at all.  If Warner's wicket isn't followed by another within 3 overs the game is gone.  Morgan's muppets lack either guile or gumption, Roy's absence is significant, partnerships will not be built in testing conditions.  The margin of defeat will be large.

Wow I think we have been very unlucky, seems a bit over the top. We haven't been firing but also could easily have had a few earlier wickets, seems they have been getting away with a bit with where the ball is bouncing in the field.

    Butlers mis-stump was criminal though

    Do love an optimist.
Bowlers reined Aussies in a bit and the total looked gettable.

    Vince gets a pearler.
Joe Root faces 8 balls then plays across a straight ball, "cos y'know doesn't matter if I get out..."
captain muppet at 26/2 in 6th over with the ball still moving around flaps a dolly out to fine leg, "cos y'know doesn't matter if I get out..."
Pat Cummins hasn't even warmed up yet.
    any further questions?

Ben Stokes + a truck load of luck, crap Aus fielding and favourable umpiring might get England close.

We will find out if 285 is a good score in about 3 1/2 hours...

Its a a time like this where you think they've got the squad wrong.

There is no other batsman behind Vince - noone.

However, they have Plunkett,Curran,Dawson all not playing. And they are playing 6 bowlers already.
