If Bowyer walks who knows.
Sorry to mention the mob dahn the road, but neither can I imagine Neil Harris at any other club. Some people are just made for certain jobs and places. Bowyer is one of those4 -

No wonder no-one is going to sign if that’s the kind of money we’re offering. Pitiful.3

What’s a fair wage for Bauer in this division? £8000week? More?0

In the Champ there are clubs almost awash with cash from parachute payments.
To CAFC, perhaps £10 K a week is the absolute max that they would or could be prepared to pay any player. A recently relegated club might consider double that to be a starting point to keep a star player or offer to a potential signing. I am sure there are many Champ players earning a half million a year and more

If Bauer was a contracted Championship player he would be worth £1m+. So that is £20k pw+. If we signed him on a free, he could command that wage.0

So I am informed.1 -
I highly doubt we are offering players wages in ranges of 2.5/5k.
It is likely though that Bauer will have an offer of 750k to a million a year or somewhere thereabouts from other rival clubs. That's the problem. I've accepted he has gone tbh, same with Aribo now. It's Bowyer I have a bit of hope with still0 -

Braziliance said:I highly doubt we are offering players wages in ranges of 2.5/5k.That means we are destined for League One. The AVERAGE wage in The Championship is £25,000/week (pic one). The median payroll in The Championship two years ago was £30 freaking million, which equates to about a mil per year per 23 players on the club, assuming the rest of the staff/academy players makes £7M, which is a stretch. This is not a good situation, new owner or no new owner.0

Yet we have an issue there, Scoham.... FFP Rules, which contrary to myth, are enforced quite-well, especially down here.Let's look at a few numbers.... according to our 2017-18 financials, CAFC had total turnover of roughly £7.3M from all sources. There is no reason to think it went up or down much in 2018-19, overall (playoffs excluded.) In VotV, it is stated that we can expect another £6-7M in money from the new league. Great. Let's say we get new owners, raise ticket prices 20% (to the Championship averages) and then increase average attendance by 60%, which to me is by no means a sure thing. That would be an increase of £1.6M in revs from match-day. Get better deals for the kit and other commercial by 100%, that adds another £1.6M. Add it all together and we have total turnover in the best reasonable scenario of.... £17million.If we then lose the max per year on top of all that and all of it goes to wages, that is £30M to spend on wages, bang-middle of the pack. It might rank even lower, now (see picture #1, below.) Given a great many clubs in The Championship lose the max FFP every year (or close to it) even if we follow-suit, we still have less to spend due to making far less revenue that most clubs in our new pond.I hate to point this out but CAFC had among the MOST valuable squads in League One, not the least, ranking 3rd as the season started by Transfermarkt, exactly where we finished (picture 2.) Suddenly, we are among the poorest clubs in our new division and even with new owners willing to lose the max, we still have quite a gap to make up to afford the best players, or even keep our own. Some clubs spend 500-1000% on wages what our whole club likely made in revenues in 2017-18. How can we compete with that?New owners will help and if they spend the max they are allowed then I think (with Bowyer) we can be a stalwart mid-level Championship club. And perhaps one year, if we can stabilize for 3-4 seasons, maybe we catch lightning in a bottle like did this year and get promoted.League One squad values, by Transfermarkt.6

We will no doubt be offering poor money compared to the likes of Fulham and Forest etc but it's highly unlikely the contracts being stumped up are worth 130k. At a guess it will be around the 400/500k mark. If it is lower than that then Bowyer certainly won't sign an extension1 -

If Bauer can get a mil per year from someone then he should grab it. Sure won't be us.
