betfair preview was a bit crap, nice setting as in the executive bit at emirates so a decent cash bar - although steep punk ipa £6.20!! guinness out of a can £4.80.

could not hear much, was sitting in front of the owners of paisley park who were v keen on his chances.

    couple of decent price boosts

delta work 3/1 max bet £50
paisley park 5/2 max bet £50
    bvd 11/4 max bet £50
    sir erec max bet £50

there offer this year is back a horse at sp of 3/1 + and get a free bet of same value max bet £50.00

issue was it was a panel consisting of paul nicholls, gordon elliot, joeseph o brien, olly murphy - who are all trainers so only really tipped there own horses, and most are faves anyway, paul nicholls did not say much and just looked like he did not want to be there.

couple of freebies the racing post guide which is 14.99 usually for free and a few pens.

only ones i could get were the naps of the festival for each panelist.

paul keally - glen forsa arkle
    paul nicholls - magic saint
joeseph o brien - delta work
olly murphy - dallas des pictons
gordon elliot - sir erec or tiger roll when asked for one of his own
gary o brien - defi du seuil - jlt
barry orb betfair - lakeview lad - ultima

off to the ganleys pub in morden one tonight where the panel consists of

    mick fitzgerald
    dicky johnson
    noel fehily
    luke harvey
    paul keally

    Thanks for this @palarsehater.

I use to work with Barry Orr. That's all I'm prepared to say about him. Would like to have heard what Gary O'Brien has to say as he is excellent but the likes of Nicholls, Elliot and O'Brien have their own interests to protect so are never likely to give too much away - owners such as JP McManus and O'Leary would have them castrated if they gave away any of their handicap sleepers.

Paul Kealy will probably be OK tonight but I'd like to be there to listen to Fitzgerald (to count up the number of cliches he comes out with) and Harvey simply because he is such a self proclaimed buffoon - and lives up to it too!

only horse that was slated by anyone was ok corrall who kealy said has no chance, should not be a favourite and wont last the trip

    a more indepth on last nights preview;

Panel: Paul Nicholls, Gordon Elliott, Joseph O'Brien, Olly Murphy, Paul Kealy & Gary O’Brien

    MC: Lee Mottershead

     Day one

    Supreme Novice Hurdle

JOB – My horse Fakir Doudairies in great shape loads of experience, good chance with weight allowance too.

PN – My horse Grand Saucy good to soft all good for him.

GE – I have five entered in the race, but may only run two Felix Desjy and Vision D'honneur who’s has a good each way chance.  This will probably go to the English runners.

Ollie Murphy – Itchy Feet and Thomas Darby – look forward to running the pair good each way for Thomas Darby he’s got plenty of class.

PK – Al Dancer – put him up over Christmas.  Look a great chance then but going for Pauls horse now Grand Saucy. Fakir Doudairies is the best four year old in it, for a while.

GOB - Home banker for English – Mr Fisher for me

     Arkle

BO – Defi Du Seuil may be re-routed here, if so he’s for me.

PK – Defi Du Seuil is definitely for the JLT. I like Glen Forsa for me. Best bet of the week.

GE – Bit of support for Hard-line, very good form, he won a good grade 1 in limerick for me. Listen to McCoy Defi Du Seuil runs in JLT.  Like Mullins Horse to Duc Des Genievres JOB – Us and Them his plan was to run here.  Ran well behind le Richburg, he’s a good each way.

PN – May review my runners to many in field atm.

David Casey got mentioned about fancying Duc Des Genievres

     Champion Hurdle

BO – Betting momentum is with Lurina. Have to pick Lurina GE – Apples Jade runs here and confirmed.  I’m hoping for a good run, she’s in the form of her life.  Running well at home but have up most respect for Buveur Dair.

PN – Sharjan could run a good race – Apples Jade for me.

PK – Apples Jade for me – but don’t know if she likes Cheltenham, unlike Buveur Dair.

GOB –Apples Jade, she got the best hurdle performance over hurdles this year.

    Ollie – Buveur Dair.

     Handicaps

PN – I’m upbeat about give me a copper – had some difficulties but ran with great credit and great shape.  Also run Movewiththetimes but he must jump better.

GE – Champagne classic is out but have chance in 4 miler, needs a career best for Gun digger, in the Ultimate Out Sam. Top bet of day one Cubomina E/W JOB – Tower Bridge may lack experience, will run shady operator there too.

GOB - Benie Des Dieux mares handicap great vibes. Like Discorama each way in the hunts chase, was a good second in the pipe. Ran well at Naas.

PK – Close brother’s Good Man Pat

    DAY TWO

Ballymore Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (Registered As The Baring Bingham) (Class 1) (4yo+) GE - Battleoverdoyen Ollie – Champ JOB – Really like Battleoverdoyen PK – Battleoverdoyen solid – but likes Sam Profile

RSA Insurance Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) (5yo+) PN – Impressed with Delta Work, the one to beat. Between Delta Work & Santini GE – On Delta Work – won well last year, 3 from 3. He’s a nice horse.  Very good form and loves a bit of rain JOB – Delta Work, one of the bankers of the week – Mortal can do well needs a bit of rain.  E/W GOB – Delta Work beat Mortal well and has form around Cheltenham.

PK – Top of the game very good horse should be favourite miles bitter than Santini.

Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) (5yo+) BO – Min would go here, but nothing beats Altior All going for Altior

Weatherbys Champion Bumper (A Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race) (Grade 1) GE – Envoi Allen might not win if he doesn’t turn up- he likes a bit of rain, future chaser, Abracadabra’s good chance.

JOB – 2 horses in bumper, Meticulous good each way so is Sempo.  Band of Outlaws is his best chance of the day.

    Handicaps

PN – run two in Corel cup Old Guard, trip suits and Brio Conti surprised me lately very good chance.

GE - Tiger Roll, Keith Donohue to ride.  Cross X Country race is the best race for Tiger Roll to win Fred Winter – lethal steps 2nd highest rated novice chaser this year after SIR EREC race should suit.

    Best bets of DAY Two

    BO - Whiskey Sour

    GOB = Delta Work

    GE – Tiger Roll

    JOB – Band of Outlaws

Olly = Top of the game

PN – Brio Conti Corel cup

    Day Three –

JLT Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (Registered As The Golden Miller) (Class 1) (5yo+) GE – Mengly Khan – was bit disappointment this year, Defi Du Seuil the one to beat.

    PK – Kildisart Cracking bet

GOB – Huge fan of Defi Du Seuil, build up a nice bit of experience.

Ryanair Chase (Registered as The Festival Trophy) (Grade 1) (Class 1) (5yo+) BO – Footpad might turn up do well but Frodon is a good for me PN – Frodon should run this, ground looking a bit soft ideal for him, very good on this track. Gold Cup a bit of a Dream yet.

JOB – Very impressed with Monalee, big fan might be hard to beat.

GOB – Asked about UDS – if he turns up ran well at Christmas, might run without hind shoes.  Monalee for me.

GE – Storyteller only runner in this he’s 16/1 ridden to be placed PK – Frodon runs fresh the won to beat.  Really good horse around Cheltenham

Sun Racing Stayers' Hurdle (Grade 1) (Class 1) (4yo+) PK – Paisley Park has showed good form and is the best of British, No to Faugheen cause of age Ollie – loves Paisley Park banker for the meeting, the one to beat.

GOB – Faugheen 11 years old win, hard to see it.  3 miles may bring back a revival.  I’ve nothing not to dislike about Paisley Park.

JOB – Supasundae may be valuable, have to be impress with Paisley Park.  Between Paisley Park and Faugheen GE – Doubt will have a runner in this.  Can’t argue against Paisley Park but get on Faugheen

    Handicaps

GE – Pre-Temps Sire Du Berlais has a very good chance A Toi Phil good price each way. Measure of dreams JJ cod - Kim Muir BO – Money for measure of dream Kim Muir JOB – I’ve a good each way with Pertemps with sisters horse Thermistocles PN – Posh Trish, tough mare kept fresh for Cheltenham big chance GOB – Sire Du Berlais Pretemps – in the plate Henderson’s horse PK – Pertemps Dan Skelton horse Notwhatiam – Kim Muir Emma Levelle De Rasher Counter form has been franked great form.

    Best bets Thursday

    Pk – Kilderstart

    PN – Frodon

    Olly – Paisley Park

    GE – Faugheen

    JOB – Monalee

GOB – Defi Du Seuil – Best bet of the week BO – Paisley Park

    Day four

JCB Triumph Hurdle (Grade 1) (Class 1) (4yo) JOB – Sir Erec – very impressed with last run very good flat horse.  He’s quite versatile on any ground.

PN – Quell Destin – rated 66 on flat up against it with Sir Erec.  QD is a Tough Horse all the same.  Pic D'Orhy interesting horse he’s one for the future loves soft ground.  .

GE – JOB horse the one to be one, very special.  My horse god E/W GOB – Sir Erec solid Irish banker – could win any novice race.

PK – like Sir Erec, Favourites can be beating, Gardens of Babylon each/way

Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (Registered As The Spa Novices' Hurdle) (Class 1) GE - Commander of the Fleet – always runs a good race very hard to train.  Not sure can win this very nice horse all the same. Likes Dempsey’s horse Derrinross Olly – Hadn’t flu jab in time for my horses – this race throws up mad prices winners.

JOB – Rhinestone if he runs here good chance.  Likes Dinons big price for Gordon GOB – Don’t have a strong view, like Rhinestone for each way value.

PK – Back outsiders = horse that run several times – don’t worry about age 7 years can win. Like Dinons for Gordon

Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) (5yo+) BO – Looks Presenting Percy will go off fav PN – Clan Des Obeaux improving youngster, ran a good prep run.  A lot in it exposed. Hopefully we’ll get a very good run.  Doesn’t mind the track should give a good account.

GE – Shattered love very good each way chance, not ideal prep.  It’s a great race.  Presenting Percy love it.

JOB – Presenting Percy not worried about his prep run.  Good schooling around Galway.  Bellshill in the mix with Clan Des Obeaux GOB - Presenting Percy would have like to see him run chase prep but there just being bit cautious.  Paul’s horse looks solid too. Strong Irish challenge with Bellshill.

Olly – Native River – needs soft ground and has a chance.  But like the front two, Presenting Percy & Clan Des Obeaux PK - Presenting Percy is half the price he was last year, could have better prep, but like Pauls better with Al Boum Photo David Casey got mentioned = likes Bellshill

    Handicaps

PN – Le Prezien very good chance

Passion de Poulter – getting on in age, Wonderful Charm needs good ground PK – Cut the Mustard for Mullins – Fox-hunters - Wonderful Charm GE – Dallas Des Pictons hopefully third pipe winner, I love to win this.  Will run five in it.  Cartwright is another good one working well at home.

    GE – Galvin – Ballymore

    Best bets

    PK – Glen Forsa

PN – Magin saint grand a

    Olly - Dallas Des Pictons

GE – Sir Erec, tiger roll

    JOB - Delta work

    GOB – Defi Du Seuil

    BO - Lakeview lad

    Lee - Native River

    Ruby on Skype

Ruby World Hurdle – Faugheen was travelling well in leopardstown and is in great form – PP won ok races.  I’m looking forward to riding Faugheen.  If he can reproduce the race he won last year Paisley Park will have a game on.

Ruby – Gold Cup – Kemboy was good at Xmas, on figures Al Boum photo for me – Bellshill is still improving, but how they all work at home is very good

More confused as they all seem to go for different horse in every race, like its teed up for people to bet on as many as possible. Just my interpretation of the minutes/ write up.

@johnnybev1987 have done a preview for the last 4 years, attended betbright last few years but company no longer exists and last year was a joke rich ricci didnt turn up let it be a free bar and of course everyone was hammered and just being dickheads.

i prefer a panel with jockeys as opposed to trainers as they do have different opinions.

Sam Turner and Andy Holding are both worth listening too (unless Sam is droning on and on and on about his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers!!).

Hope Fehily doesn't know something I don't re Allaho - I got the nod from Ruby* that he's riding him for the Albert Bartlett, and apparently has a phenomenal chance in that race. Took 20s at the time and he's now half that.

*obviously not directly. But it got to me from a guy I really respect involved with Ruby. Hopefully not a red herring.

Nobody let a certain Robert M. see this, but Discorama is currently 12/1 win any race with a certain online company who have nothing to do with this message board, and is 7/1 max elsewhere... Definite mistake. Get on.

    Too late, I've seen it!

Yes, all the others are making a definite mistake!

Cracking value as always from the top boys!

Skybet offer seems crazily good. Basically a free £20 bet each day on the first race?
  • Callumcafc
    Callumcafc Posts: 63,757
That’s been their standard Cheltenham offer for the last few years I think. One of the few bookies to still be giving their punters anything worthwhile.

I’m looking at you Ladbrokes with your £1 per day free bet.
  • I’ve used the SkyBet offer the last couple of years, pretty sure it used to be money back as a free bet though and this year it’s cash so even better.

Sky bet restricted my bets after a week and within 5 weeks was pointless trying to place a bet with them.

I've just started my own completely free tipping service. It's probably going to be rubbish, but I wanted to get going in time for The Festival. My picks start here:

In all, I have 8pts in play just for tomorrow, which is a lot more than I'd ever tip normally, but this is Cheltenham.

The bets also differ significantly from what I'm on board ante-post. This is effectively me "starting fresh".

Here's hoping coin can be made!

Fancy Angels Breath 1.30. Track will suit better than Kempton did.
