I dont just mean 10 goals in a game, I mean for 1 team.

We were close a few weeks ago with Man City v Burton.

Bon Accord would have loved to have kept it at ten... (ended 36-0 in case you didn't know...).

Birmingham have scored more than ten in a game five times.  (But haven't done so for more than 100 years).

There was obviously something in the air in 1960.  In 60-61 Peterborough scored 134 league goals (still a record) and Charlton became the first team to concede six goals in a win and a draw, hen they completed the task with a 6-6 against Middlesbrough.

Wish Liverpool had scored 1 more in the 80’s against Palarse, then I could have contributed to this thread....

I wonder if this might be better in the "matches where the two teams, between them, scored quite a lot of goals, but neither side managed to reach ten" thread.

    Everton.  10-4.

(That's the score, not CB radio slang).

    I recognise that pool table...

You must be a few beers in if you're in that room :-)

Didn’t Liverpool stick 9 or 10 on Palace a few years back. This weekend, Staines Town shipped eight.

And the amazing sub-plot to that story is that on the very same day Dundee's Harp beat Aberdeen Rovers 35-0. Their captain D’Arcy junior scoring ten goals on his own, with D’Arcy senior also scoring. Incredibly the referee had recorded that score as 37-0, but Harp's secretary persuaded him that it was only 35, effectively knocking two goals off his own team's tally. Thinking they had set the British record, Harps player Tom O'Kane sent a telegram boasting of the result to his former team team mates at, you guessed it, the Abroath side who had beaten Bon Accord the same day. At first he thought it was a joke when the return telegram told that they had scored 36. He was distraught when he found it to be true though and after a sleepless night ran eighteen miles from Arbroath to Dundee to get the the score reinstated as 37-0. The match officials refused to do this though and 35-0 stands. History does not record the later relationship between Harps players and their secretary. We can only guess.
