FRY BANNED FROM FOOTBALL

Well-known director of football Barry Fry, who has been at Peterborough since 1996, has been suspended from all football-related activity for four months, although three are suspended for two years.

The FA said in a statement Fry accepted a charge of misconduct in relation to betting during the 2017/18 season, and has also been fined £35,000.

What are the odds on Peterborough getting a last minute dubious penalty away at Charlton this season? Oh, hang on.

so, effectively banned for a month .. token gesture .. where does the 35 grand go ? .. into the coffers of the EFL/FA ? .. should go to a charity working to help gambling addicts

He's broken possibly the most important rule in sport. And he's "banned" for a month. Conveniently, the shortest month of the year. And he will get to carry on from March.

So, he stays in place until the transfer widow shuts, then takes a four-week break.

Compare that to Steve Smith, who was banned for being instrumental in cheating-to-win, albeit in a different sport. Banned for a year. None of it suspended.

Absolutely outrageous that someone so high up in his club is given such a trifling ban.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the sacking of Evans?

Chizz mentioning trifle made me think of Evans.

I said so at the tine... both Evans had form. As did Fry.... Would not be suprised if that ref is involved as well.
  • " Fry accepted charges relating to a bet on a Peterborough United player to finish as the highest goal scorer in League One in 2017/2018 season and for Peterborough United to be promoted .
Jack Marriott finished as leading scorer before moving to Derby but Posh failed to gain promotion. Fry claimed that he made the wager on Marriott as insurance to cover a clause in the striker's contract which guaranteed him a bonus payment for being top League one goal scorer."
  • The FA are a complete piss pot joke.

There must be something in Peterborough’s water as we also see that Fiona Onasanya Peterborough MP is jailed.
