Jackson can't pass as well as most QB's. I said a few weeks back he to me is a poor man's Michael Vick. That's why the o coordinator is continuing to run the ball. You would be better off with Flacco in there.

Look what happened when they finally let him throw in the 4th quarter. Over 160 yards and Two TDS - in one quarter. He can throw, It's lazy analysis to say he can't - watch his college tape. What he does struggle with his throwing to sidelines and obviously the fumbling has been an issue but the O-line struggles to pass protect (see Flacco the last three years) - it's built for the run. They needed to trust Jackson earlier on in the passing game. May have been a different outcome then.

Credit to the Chargers though and especially Melvin Ingram. What a game he had.
The yards and touchdowns came against the chargers playing prevent defence and not there usual defence. Jackson couldn't move the ball against the normal defence. I have watched his tape prior to the draft. I feel and still do he is a poor mans Michael Vick. Lacks accuracy and panics in the pocket.
Playing prevent but gave up two TDS.
Never said it was a good idea for them to play prevent defense! It was a shambles they stopped pass rushing Jackson and backed off.

Jackson is not an NFL ready passer by a long way

Yet he's the only rookie QB in the playoffs.
You think he is better than Mayfield?
Very different players and both are/will be crucial to their teams and the AFC North is going to be great viewing over the next few years, Jackson turned the Ravens around from another season destined to be 8-8 and was 6-1 as a starter in the regular season and but for a Mahomes Miracle would have been 7-0. I watch the Ravens every week and think some of the lazy stuff coming out about his passing is ill informed. No slant on Mayfield - I don think Jackson is better than him at the moment. Mayfield is pretty special.
I watch the niners most weeks unfortunately. Have done for 10+ years. How much of the win streak was down to that amazing defense that Baltimore always have? I genuinely wanted to know if you thought Jackson was better than Mayfield. I think Mayfield is something special. I also rate Flacco for what it's worth.

Partly down to the defense (it's even better this year) of course, but look at the rush yards per game from both Jackson and Edwards, Dixon et al. Jackson played a huge part in elevating a stagnate offense that had zero identity with Flacco. Huge amount of respect for Flacco but his time is up in Baltimore. He won't struggle for work though. I expect him to end up with the Jags, Broncos or Redskins with Miami and the Giants as outside possibilities.

Mayfield certainly is something special, not just with his talent, but also the way he reads coverage and moves his line and receivers around before a play. The Browns have a serious leader there.

Here's hoping Jimmy G recovers and stays fit for the 49ers.

Excerpt from an article on the Athletic (behind a paywall):

"Afforded a second look at film of the Ravens in three weeks, Chargers defenders saw that Baltimore’s offense, though complex, seemed to change little week to week. They solved parts of it and picked up clues, like left tackle Ronnie Stanley’s feet. When Stanley set them about even, it was a run, and when he set his left foot further back, it was a pass “almost 100 percent” of the time.

And when the Ravens ran out of the pistol formation, a tight end in the backfield on the same side as the tight end at the line of scrimmage almost always meant one of two running plays: “counter” or “cut belly.” On Sunday, players said it was as if Baltimore changed nothing from the first game."

    Chargers D was exceptional.

Yeah Jimmy G was a miss but Mullens played well in his undrafted rookie year. He seems like a find. Our main issues is defense - no edge rush and bad secondary outside Sherman. We have drafted 1st round rushers 3 out of last four years and the 3rd overall pick Solomon thomas is an absolute bust.

As a long time Packer fan, I really don’t care how or why the Bears’ kicker missed the FG. I am just happy he did. Anything that makes FIBs (Fucking Illinois Bastards- as we call them) gnash their teeth, makes me smile. To Packers fans, The Bears are our Crystal Palace.

This is a QB light draft. Hope we can hold off this year and somehow grab Tua Tagovailoa next.

Anyone in top 10 who needs a QB should just boost the O Line and get them a years experience before drafting QB in 2020 draft.

No thanks, I'll stick with a Cody Kessler and Tanner Lee tandem to tank, forget about the NFL for a year, then get that sweet sweet number 1 overall pick please...

Just tuned in to Clemson-Alabama and Tua throws a pick six two plays after I tune in!

... Maybe Jags should hold off another year and wait for Trevor Lawrence, we'll see. Hah.

Obviously long shots for a reason but I notice SkyBet are have both Derek Watt and Tavon Austin at 100/1 each for first TD scorer in each of their respective games.

Both prices are way too big in my opinion. Worth a couple of quid each.

Flacco is a huge upgrade on both and a good bridge.

Justin Herbet will be the QB everyone wants next year. Will Grier is one to look out for this year too.

Yeah, he's an upgrade, which is why I want to maintain those two, have a shit season, and then grab Herbert as our franchise QB after drafting whoever the best O-line prospect is at 7 this year! Hah.

I'll pay the Upbeats tomorrow. Maybe we'll have a similar bet on Flacco if he joins you.

Kliff Kingsbury, former Texas Tech head coach (fired this offseason) and most recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at USC (literally just joined them) , is reportedly set to become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Yeah, because what the Pack need is an OC whose offense ranked 25th out of 32 teams in yards and 27th in points, to take over as head coach.

    Great, great news!

An OC that knows how to use a mobile QB. Roman was OC with Kaepernick and Smith at the 49ers and Tyrod at the Bills.

Should be a cracker this one. I think the Chiefs will do it but wouldn't be surprised if the Colts win.
