My intended back pass from just inside my own half that ended up as a lob over my own keeper in 1976ish must be up there.1

Since the back pass law was changed, a lot of the OGs like those by Dixon and Barness don't seem to happen
Almost as good a strike as the Wanyama goal for Spurs yesterday!Starinnaddick said:This one's good

You beat me to it. Best own goal ever ... shame it was in the days before all matches being covered by TVbolloxbolder said:For obvious reasons I always prefer Jim Tolmies curled 40 yard pass back og at Carlisle in 1986!!

I'd second that. I was there and remember it well. It changed the game in our favour.Chippycafc said:Jim tolmie i think his name was. Carlisle v Charlton in our promotion season of 81. Scored from the half way line. Had all day to do anything he wanted with it. We were 2-0 down at the time, went on to win 3-2 and promotion.

Great stuff. The internet has sadly killed off the Danny Baker type Own goals and gaffs video compilations that were quality.0

Can see the way he initially jumps, he's trying to get it over the bar... Goes horribly wrong though0 -
For any ex-CIFC, either of Jeff Prior's identical 40 yards screamer own goals0

Alloa Athletic managed to beat Greenock Morton 2-1 on Saturday thanks to a rather fortunate - or unfortunate - own goal Kerr Waddell.
With the game sitting at 1-1, Waddell's fluffed kick, after a failed Rory McKeown clearance, was enough to give the hosts the three points.
