Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick by Ian Dury and the Blockheads
Recorded at The Workhouse Studio on the Old Kent Road, the song was released on November 23rd 1978 - forty years ago today. It reached the top of the singles chart in January 1979 and is the first 7" 'single' that I bought.
