Keeley Hazell is worth a google !!

saw a tweet that said Cole announcing his retirement is along the same lines as John Leslie announcing he's no longer working in TV ;)

Used to come in my shop up Grove Park, no shit

On a serious note thought he was a good player but never fully reached his potential

Because he was English and forced to play left wing. Same as Hoddle, Le Tissier and the other maverick type footballers before them that don't fit into the tie and blazer way of playing international football.

We don't know how to nurture talented, flair players in this country very well in comparison to other nations.
What he needed was Karl Robinson as his manager. Would have played “Coley” as a “number 10” in his 4-2-3-1 without fail.
  • I’ve been waiting for a post about Joe Cole for years so I can finally tell this story.

At my wedding back in 2006, the evening was just beginning and the evening buffet for guests was all laid out and people started tucking in. My missus turned around to me and asked who the hell that was smashing in to the onion bhajis next to the best man - who had got him a plate and was piling it full.

From the back I didn’t have a clue, so wandered over, and my smashed off his tits mate turned around and had his arm around a smiling face I recognised.

He shook my hand and said “congratulations”

I mutter - “er - are you Joe Cole”

“I was last time I checked” he says.

Turns out my mates grabbed a drink from the other bar at Pennyhill Park to beat the queue and found Joe Cole and a couple of his mates in there.

In exchange for grub, I was then stunned when Cole went up to our bar with his card and stuck £750 behind it so everyone could have a drink on him.

I then asked if he wouldn’t mind signing for Charlton (it was the Les Reed era and we were struggling) to help us out and he was saying Scott Parker (who had just gone to Newcastle post the chelsea debacle I think) said it was a great club and he wished he had waited to the end of the season before leaving us that year.

Its one reason why I really hope we dont get rid of Gareth Southgate as England Manager and give him time

I know there is all this shit with Rooney at the moment (Dont care its a one off) yet I truly wonder if Dyche or Howe would come in and rely on youth like Southgate has done, whereas he really pays attention to the youth teams
