Steer 5.5 not sure what he was doing for that first goal
Solly 8 didn't play brilliantly all things considered, but...yeah
Pearce 6.5 beaten in the air for the first goal and a few slips, otherwise solid
Sarr 7 thought he had a good game and denied them a few times, no blame for anything
Page 6 an important outlet but wasn't quite at it
Reeves 6 thought he looked lively and tigerish and very nearly scored a screamer that would have surely won it. but he also wasn't able to physically impose himself on a big luton side
Cullen 6.5 thought he perhaps lacked presence today although his delivery from set-pieces was decent. a fine player regardless
Aribo 6 one of the main reasons they got back in the game was because Aribo just isn't any good at defending or holding a shape. should be deployed further forward. won a penalty i guess
Fosu 5 and that would be lower if he hadn't scored. an assortment of dives and blind alleys. can and should do far better
Taylor 6 showed a poor touch and a wild shot. at least he ran all day
Vetokele 5.5 again, very little from him aside from a couple of nice challenges to win it back

Reeves: 5 (I've figured why he seems to be ubiquitous but without ever doing very much - it's his blonde hair and it makes him stand out! Ineffective and missed a great chance in the first half whilst taking 5 minutes to try and put it on his left foot!).

It's a good point about Aribo. He was excellent going forward at times, and he's very good at winning the ball further up the pitch, but when asked to sit deeper and defend his lack of tactical nous shows. Still thought he was one of, if not our best player, and I think your numerical mark is harsh, but I think the point about his ability to sit and defend is worth highlighting.

Referee: 6 - Weird day. Got a lot right but thought he missed a couple bookings for Hatters players.

Steer: 6.5 - Mistake for their opener, but had two of three good saves and he's very good with his feet. Think he just misjudged the ball in the sun.

Solly: 8 - An extra point for the equalizer and what an equalizer. Think he's looked better over the last few weeks, and he's getting forward more which provides an outlet for Reeves on the overlap.

Pearce: 7 - Pearce. Has done well playing at right center back by and large. Couple of dodgy moments but equally some important interventions.

Sarr: 7 - Kind of Sarr in a nutshell. Got in the way of a lot, stopped a lot of attacks from getting in behind, but also had a couple moments where he'll be disappointed.

Page: 6.5 - Wasn't terrible, but his crossing was often lacking and he wasn't brilliant defensively. I think it's clear he's carrying a knock.

Reeves: 6.5 - Whereas last week he was dropping off and pinging the ball around, this week was a lot more about getting stuck in. Thought he did that well. Could have taken that chance in the first half first time but it wasn't a sitter as some have described. Also nearly scored a worldie shortly before their opener.

Cullen: 7.5 - The boy is class.

Aribo: 7.5 - It's good to finally see the Aribo of last season. As Leuth points out, his lack of defensive nous let them on to us in the second half but equally he looked a man possessed running at them and it was one of those lovely lazy mazing runs that won us the penalty against the run of play. He has a tremendous amount of ability, he's just still raw in certain areas. But he looks so much better playing alongside Reeves and Cullen.

Fosu: 6.5 - Extra half point for the goal but flattered to deceive beyond that. Looked rusty. Was kept on for 10-15 minutes too long for me.

Taylor: 6.5 - Worked hard but nothing really came off for him. Sometimes he's too interested in the physical duel and doesn't do enough to try to play the ball.

Vetokele: 6 - Did his doggies. Got no service. Given we play Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday (admittedly in the CheckaTrade) I'm hoping we get to see more from him. There's definitely still a player in there, but he needs service to be effective.

Still on way back from game. Being an old got my IT skills don't let me copy and paste a whole team. However I can't believe some of the marks given so far. How anybody can give Sarr the same or anywhere near the same as Pearce baffles me. One is as good as anybody in this division whilst the other makes regular mistakes. His positional play is poor and marking variable!

There was also a moment in the first half where Pearce completely misjudged the flight of the ball and allowed the striker to run clear through towards goal. Luckily the bloke wasn’t too pacy and was caught.

Bottom line for me is that Pearce looked shaky on a couple of occasions today whereas I don’t remember Sarr putting a foot wrong.

Sorry to do this on the player marks thread but wanted to justify my marks.

Fosu: 8 (MotM) best dribbler in the league

Igor: 6, weren't up to much first half, better 2nd

I'd like to object to people watching on I follow being able to mark on the game please.
Of course if they are boycotting I will allow.

It does strike me that there is quite a difference between watching the game on a phone screen and physically travelling to the away game.

Usually you see more of the game on ifollow and aren't as swayed by the passion of the live crowd, so I'd argue the marks from ifollow will be more accurate on the overall performance of individuals

Steer 5.5 His fault for the first
Solly 7 Good and bad but involved and got the goal
    Pearce 6 OK
Sarr 7 A bit casual but was a positive influence on the game
Page 6 Delivery wasn't his best
    Reeves 6.5 Busy
Cullen 6 Was a bit quiet
Aribo 7 Was very good with the ball. If he game improve his defensive game he will become one hell of a player
Fosu 6.5 We have to remember it was his first start. Goes past opponents at will. We just have to find a way of maximising that.
Taylor 6 Battled hard but too many poor touches and passes. Have sen him do much better
Vetokele 6 Again battled, but not yet the Vetokele I remember. We missed Grant's forward runs today.

Couldn't really pick a man of the match. A draw there is a decent result.

so you reckon that watching on a screen where what the eye can see is dictated by a cameraman/director usually following the ball, is better than being at a game where you can choose to watch any part of the stadium and/or game, or to watch (e.g.) how a particular player finds space or how quickly a defender can cover or recover to tackle an opponent ? .. well each to their own choice .. I love watching sport on the telly, BUT I'd far sooner be at the game choosing how and what I want to see

Watching a game on TV you see individual incidents better, but miss the off the ball movement etc It's swings and roundabouts

Watching a game on a phone screen? There's some people on CL who have 75 inch TV screens, you know.

Anyway, people are sober watching on ifollow - and at an away game after a days hard drinking, some can have trouble remembering anything at all.
