If can get excess waiver insurance for hire cars for about £40 a year. This covers tyres and windscreens also - something that my hire company Europcar have now added to their list. This is much cheaper than the daily excess hire companies charge.Dippenhall said:Recently hired a car from Enterprise, took out excess insurance cover but Enterprise made a point of saying they have a more relaxed view on damage and they don't worry about small scratches and dinks and ignore alloy wheel damage.

Just curious but how does this work on those car club schemes? Person A returns the car at 4pm on Monday but person B takes it at 405pm and no one from the club can assess in between drivers. Is driver B really supposed to have checked every panel in case the club contact him a week later saying they’ve found a prang?0

The worst vehicle hire company I've used is Green Motion - really own the cowboy end of the market.0
