Players Marks: Charlton Athletic v Fleetwood Town

Referee: 6 - Some odd decisions certainly. Gave Sarr a booking for something that wasn't a booking then was kind enough to let him get away with two or three bookable offenses. About par for this level.

Phillips: 7 - Couple good saves, a couple of heart in mouth moments. He is a very good shotstopper, this we know. It's the rest of his game that still needs work. But still, kept us in it a couple times.

Bauer: 7 - Back to his Bauer best.

Bielik: 6.5 - Faded a bit as the game went on but looks a tidy player with real class

Sarr: 6.5 - Gave away a couple of needless fouls, gave away a couple of fouls that weren't fouls, looked solid. When we get him on the ball his passing out of the back is one of our best forms of attack. Madden and Evans are two very good forwards for this league and he rarely looked particularly troubled.

Solly: 7 - Just doesn't get forward very much but defended well.

Page: 7 MOTM - Thought he defended really well and covered a lot of ground. On another day he might get a 7.5 but it just feels weird to give a number that high after such an insipid display. And also, his delivery really let him down at times.

Right, now that that's out of the way.

Marshall: 4 - Was there. Apparently. Unfortunately iFollow was frozen when he had a shot so I didn't get to see him do anything. He scored 10 goals the season before last. He looked a real threat taking players on. What happened?

Aribo: 5 - Went missing for large stretches. He is a very gifted player but he is still very raw. And because we have no creativity in midfield and our team gets really stretched the opposition are able to put two and three men on him and just mark him out of the match.

Pratley: 5 - A lot of running to nowhere really.

Taylor: 5.5 - Ran around a lot. I think we're seeing why he's spent so much time at Wimbledon and in the lower leagues. When he's good he's a real handful, but he doesn't have the natural technical ability or clinical finishing that would make him capable of playing at that level above. I might be being a bit harsh here, he also had absolutely no service.

Grant: 6 - He makes things happen with his pace and workrate. His decision making is still poor at times. But we look most likely to score when he's on or around the ball.

Vetokele: 6.5 - Looked very lively just didn't have any service. Looked fit and spry. Excited to have him back.

Lapslie: 6 - Smallest man on the pitch nearly scored a header from six yards out. Still think he should have come on for Pratley as Aribo is a matchwinner, but it is what it is.

Referee: 7- One of the easiest match he will ever referee.
Phillips: 6.5 One cracking save
Bauer: 7- Class. Makes everything look easy.
Bielik: 6- Time will tell. Not his biggest fan.
Sarr: 6- Clean sheet, but is an accident waiting to happen.
Solly: 6- Average.
Marshall: 5.5- Hard worker who doesn’t have the quality.
Aribo: 6- Not his best performance, playing too deep.
Pratley: 6- Solid but cannot create anything.
Page: 6- Marked down for giving the ball away in 93rd minute, which should have led to a Fleetwood goal.
Taylor: 6- Unless he’s putting the ball away doesn’t offer much.
Grant: 6.5- Lively and made some lovely runs.
Vetokele: 6- Nowhere near match fit.

Lapslie: 6- unlucky to not score at the end.

Referee: 6 idk he seemed ok
Phillips: 7.5 made the big save when he had to
Bauer: 6.5 a bit dicey at times
Bielik: 7 looks good as a DM and quite skilful, overplayed it a couple of times
Sarr: 7 plays a dangerous game sometimes but overall in credit for this showing and worked it wide really well. never a booking
Solly: 7.5 very much back to his old self I'd say
Marshall: 4 ugh no stop it. he's done as an attacking force
Aribo: 6 great when he could get hold of it, which was rarer than it should have been
Pratley: 6.5 for the shift he put in. not always so effective but he sure runs around a lot
Page: 7 dreadful error at the end but until then played pretty well and was our biggest threat
Taylor: 6 looked dangerous but couldn't quite get that clear opening (apart from in the first 30 seconds)
Grant: 6 didn't quite make it happen
Vetokele: 6 will ease into it

I think the marks and commentary from @SDAddick above are absolutely spot on so to save writing out what I had to say can the administrator just go with those marks for me please.

Only difference is I would give the ref an 8 as he really didn’t annoy me at all which is a miracle in this league. Got in the way a couple of times and his early booking meant he had to give out a few more in a game that really was too anaemic to swerve them. For this level I thought he had a great game.
