Lieven said that historic issues have now been sorted (at great expense to the Aussies). The recent documents issue I suspect is, relative to them, a minor blip.Streetlife said:Agree change is much needed and can’t believe no one wouldn’t welcome it.
However it’s clearly been amateur hour for the past several months! The guys even turned up wearing scarves in the directors box at the end of last season and here we are barely weeks away from the start of the season and we are no better off.
Happy to bet a £50 donation to the museum that this goes forward. Let’s see the colour of your money @Streetlife !4 -
But is that all down to the Aussies?Streetlife said:Agree change is much needed and can’t believe no one wouldn’t welcome it.

Your taking the regimes statement as 100% accurate when we know they lie.
What if it has been Roland or the old directors holding up the deal?
More importantly are you taking @JamesSeed bet @Streetlife ?6 -
But we don’t know:Streetlife said:With everything I’ve been involved in the longer things drag on the less likely they are to happen.
Not to say this won’t. But surely by now if there’s still some issues then it’s never going to go forward.
If it is down to not getting in the forms to the EFL well you have to ask yourself why haven’t they been submitted and why are they taking so long. It’s not as if the EFL just make things up as they go along. They have a process and the advisors to the Aussies would know exactly what is required.
From my perspective it’s all very amateur hour here by them. Not saying I don’t want them. But so far they haven’t demonstrated any good reason why we should be looking forward to them coming in other than they can’t possibly be as bad as RD - or can they?
1. When they were first asked for the missing forms
2. If this side of the story is 100% accurate
3. Exactly what the historical issues are and how much of an impact they’ve had in terms of time and money.
I have concerns about them though I’m also hopeful they’ll be an improvement on RD. They should be judged on how they run the club, not how long the takeover takes to complete.
The time taken might be a bad sign and then again it could be mainly due to complex historical issues. We don’t know what those are and therefore what’s involved.8 -
I just wish they'd hurry up.
I want to buy my Season Ticket.18 -

Sorry for cross post, but this is sale relevant:
GM met the Belgian fella Lieven yesterday, and said ‘he was very happy’. Lieven that is. That might mean progress was made on the documentation.
The good news from the meeting was that HMRC seem to be satisfied.
The season ticket/bank issue is just prudence in the face of recent uncertainty. No massive deal.
GM is getting ready to start work at The Valley. That’s good news imho. Meire is going to be a tough act to follow ;-)
I get the feeling it’s not far away now. It was only a week ago that the rumour went out the Aussies had formally pulled out. Of course that was bullsh*t, but would still love to know where that rumour came from, as it led to me increasing my ‘pest’ quotient, again :-(
In addition, some personal stuff I can’t divulge means that the Aussies feel it’s definitely happening - it’s ‘when’, rather than ‘if’.
Full respect to GM for leaking zilch re negotiations since May 18th, btw.
Some " personal stuff" eh ?
So, Jimbo, is it the CEO's desk or the FD's desk for you ?1 -

We don’t know for certain what the cause or causes of the delay have been.
We also don’t know for certain who, if anybody, is to blame for the delay.
Having read up about Andrew Muir I am confident regarding his involvement with our wonderful, precious football club.
We don’t know for sure who the other members of the ‘consortium’ are, but being involved with Andrew Muir I am also confident they will be decent people.
I would politely suggest that we view this takeover with 100% positivity.
Let’s hope they cross the finishing line soon.

More than happy to match that donation and will happily make it. My whole point here has been that the whole thing has been amateur and even comical at times. And the more it drags on the less likely it is to happen. All the best will in the world ain’t going to make it anymore likely.
However given the track record of this debacle of a takeover process, I for one am sure that it won’t happen before the start of the season and if it’s done anytime before the end of September then I’ll gladly make that donation to the museum.8 -

But OK, I'm in. About time I donated something to the museum ;-)
A bit odd to say the whole thing has been amateur/comical when you don't really know what's been going on though.
Remember they've been working with their and Roland's lawyers for around 18 months, possibly more, sorting out historic legal issues (that have even been brought up in a court case where a judge has expressed astonishment at the dodginess of it all - @Airman Brown has commented numerous times about that). I think you're being naive to think it's the Aussies mess, based on the evidence. If something went wrong in the last few weeks with form filling, then fine, they deserve the rap for that. But even that is an 'if'.
I really hate that expression 'wake up and smell the coffee'. But wake up and smell the coffee.9 -

Not going to make anything happen quicker, but good to know that two good firms are involved this time representing both sides, unlike the two dodgy/failed lawyers last time!3 - Sponsored links:
