    God I hate this thread.

It will fizzle out in a damp squib when the Aussies walk away.............if they haven't already.
  • Don't know why think it will happen tomorrow. To either add to our joy about England's continued progress in the WC or to assuage our grief at losing to Columbia (I think we will win!)

Which great exponent of cartesian dualism resists the reduction of pyschological phenomina to a physical state and insists that there is no point of contact between the extended and the unextended?

oh! I know this one, I know this one. It's...um...wait...no. Argh It's on the tip of my tongue...
    Was it Henri Bergson?
They responded quickly on that one then.

    Obviously a philosophy theme here.

    That's good news.

I no longer visit this thread in the hope of seeing the news of a successful takeover - just for the comedy posts. We have some very witty and intelligent people in this forum (OK we have a few who I seriously worry about). In fact probably enough collectively to run a third division football club if they put their minds to it!

100% I don't visit this thread for takeover news because................there isn't any. I look in purely for the comedy factor provided by the jokes, piss taking and the gut wrenching agony some people are going through waiting for the takeover.

If nothing else this thread has caused a dramatic improvement in my speed/skim reading skills.
I just did four pages in under a minute.

It's quite easy to skim through a load of rubbish

Don't tell me you already knew who was the great exponent of cartesian dualism resists the reduction of pyschological phenomina to a physical state and insists that there is no point of contact between the extended and the unextended?

    What a bummer eh?

Why do i keep opening this thread in the hope that something has actually happened?

Should you discover the answer, please do share it. I am myself similarly afflicted.
If we move the question mark from @Redvalleyeast 's post to the end of the word thread we get:

"Why do I keep opening this thread?"
    followed by
in the hope that something has actually happened

    And there's your answer.

one day I will see that this thread has a hundred and twenty new posts and I'll say fuck it it's just about pot noodles and fish puns and I'll give it a miss. Unfortunately, it will be one of those rare occasions when something has ACTUALLY happened.

Thank goodness there are lots of posters sharing how they only look on this thread to find out if there's takeover news and are surprised when there isn't any. Without them, this thread would have been off page one.

What is a boomerang called in the Western Australian Aboriginal language, Nyungar?

I wouldn't ask that one, you will only get come backs.
In case you are wondering (I know you're not though), it's a Kylie.
    You're right.

    Good grief......get some hobbies!

What part of WIOTOS dont the critics of this thread understand ?

This thread is for the people who like going off on a tangent whether fish puns, Becket, food recipes and Jimmy Seed texting on numerous different sites while riding his bike up various mountains.
Only if you reside inside Duchatelet's brain can you have an idea what happens next.

Until this best of threads and worse of threads comes to a conclusion then I will continue to use it for philosophical graffiti.

The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.

Why does the short term memory go before the long term memory in older people ?

    Don't know mate, I've forgotten  .

If you had known the answer to that question when you were in your 20's 30's 40's and 50's you wouldn't have forgotten the answer because it would be stored in your long term memory, and not the short term memory which struggled with the present moments.

Not a lot of people know that.

Slightly off topic, but have just been sent this pic of JS taken just before he received the letter from Mid Rhondda that revived his football career.

Sorry to divert the thread from its otherwise unwavering focus on the takeover.
