    yeah but that was a professional foul Paulie. The defender knew he had no chance to win the ball so he intentionally brought the defender down in a goal scoring position. That's the very definition of a red card to me.

    But if the law is that no red carf can be given if a penalty is awarded then the ref had to give him a yellow

    About as deliberate a foul as you can get, he was never getting there and the striker was about to tap it home. So he brings him down and only gets a yellow.

    Be even funnier if that defender scores the winning penalty in the shoot out!
