Who is going to stop the Germans winning another world cup, and how..?

The warning signs are all there !!!

The number one Germans beating specialists - the Italians, who use to bore them out of their tits then nick one from an offside in injury time are not available this world cup. The Dutch who are very good at reving them up and never mind the score, are nowhere to be seen...
The friendly Russian linsman the Henglish pig dogs relied on is busy mixing stuff in the lab.
So who..? And how...???
The French keep trying seduction and keep getting shafted, the Brazilians tried dancing with them in the last world cup and we all know...
The Belgians try to imitate their flag to no avail, more recently the Aussies tried making them laugh (not that easy) and after conceding 6 goals they did have some success.
The Israelis are not there so can't do the guilt thing...

Running out of clichés...
so who..? And how...?

Germany looked very lacklustre but I do wonder if that defeat might just be the kick up the arse they needed to switch back on. I’m certainly not writing them off just yet.

Mexico have. Seriously impressive if a little wasteful in front of goal

Spain, too, would've won impressively if Ronaldo hadn't have put in that performance at the other end.

    Don't get too carried away.

Like others I believe Germany will step it up and firmly believe they can still be right up there.

I make Spain favourites from what I have seen so far.

I said before the tournament that I could see Germany coming undone and thought they looked poor yesterday. Jurgi Low has his favorites and sticks by them, and as a result I think that team has gone a bit stale. Muller didn't have a great season at Bayern and was anonymous. Apparently Ozil played, I didn't notice him. Draxler, who has struggled for time at PSG, started ahead of Rues who is a real match winner, though to be fair I thought Draxler looked okay. With all the other central midfielders they have I'm not convinced Sami Khedira is still the answer. And Timo Werner just looks like he doesn't quite fit with the rest of the team. He's not the first center forward to have that problem with that side.

That said, Mexico are a good side, especially when playing against bigger teams. They're lethal on the counter, and arguably should have had two or three. Osario is a very good tactician. Mexico traditionally have a bit of the Englands about them, turning up to tournaments with big hopes and then disappointing. I think this is the game that suits them best, I think trying to break down Sweden will be very difficult. I saw Mexico in a friendly against Iceland in March and they really struggled for the first 60 minutes or so.

Before the tournemt started I said there was no stand out team and it was very open. So I picked Argentina because Messi must have a big world cup in him.

Despite relatively poor opening games I still think one of Spain, Germany, Brazil or Argentina will win it.

I'd say the answer to that question it turns out is the Germans themselves.

I am on holiday on the German coast. On the way back from the beach I breezed into the mini brewery to ask about a reservation. They were showing the game on a big screen. It was still 0-0 but there were only 5 minutes left. You could cut the air with a knife. I was inclined to comment on the situation to the waiter but thought better of it.

Got back to the apartment and opened the balcony door. From the house opposite I heard a strangled cry. I looked at my app. S. Korea had taken the lead.

Schadenfreude. A dish best enjoyed in its home country in brilliant sunshine....
