So instead of continuing to put money in RD has decided that if he remains in charge he will cash in on the players and let the club pay its way... that route lies League Two and complete oblivion plus he would likely end up giving the club away next summer. Not sure he would be much of a poker player.

    Doing an Orient
  • If RD is still in charge by the first game of the season and we have a threadbare squad then we're going down to league two.

We need to wake up!, how long have we had Roland? - over 4 years, yet were expecting him to do the right thing RIGHT????, WRONG, all the mans interested in is making money, he has NEVER understood football or indeed running a club.

For fk sake open our eyes, how many players has he sold from under our feet, our club is slowly dying, all these sales, all the cutbacks, I would use the expression "death by a thousand cuts", time is running out people, WAKE UP!, sitting back waiting for this supposed takeover, and doing nothing is, in my opinion, not an option now, we need to act, and fast, or we wont have a club left fit for perpose.

Remember this, we never got back to the valley sitting on our arses, waiting for something to happen.

As far as far as we know we still have no CEO, no FD and only a temporary manager which all indicates to me that Duchatelet wants to sell asap.

If he was really planning to run the club next season he would have to appoint to those roles.

I agree however we all know that if he gets bored or even slightly vexed he will sell assets, even during a negotiation and any normal buyer will walk away if he does.

Asset stripping just as he did at Standard Liege. Yet the EFL just standby and watch.

I am not defending him, nor am I saying he won't at some point, but we are getting carried away at the minute. It's the middle of June and all he has done is sell Konsa, something which was to be expected.

The problem is obviously the EFL. The price must already have been agreed.

In fairness to Duchatalet, he obviously hasn't yet decided how much money he wants to lose.

Should he lose money by selling the club to the only consortium that has any possibility of buying the club, but at a price that gives him a big loss?

Or should he keep the club, complete a fire sale of several players and end up with a club worth much, much less than the only consortium would be willing to pay?

As soon as he makes his mind up how much money he wants to lose, we should have an idea as to when or whether the takeover goes ahead.

He really is a shrewd businessman.

Yet Addickted said the EFL have completed the tests and the buyers have passed.

If the hold up is the EFL why isn't either party, who are both actively leaking, said so.

Its a shame the EFL cant get Roland and the Aussies together to sort their issues out, its a shame they've not bothered to hold talks with Coventry | Blackpool | Luton | Portsmouth | Leyton Orient owners etc. - After all it appears they're willing to talk with Aston Villa to help them out with their financial issues despite their problem being the fact that they gambled on their parachute payments and failed!!

Roland Duchatelet is clearly in financial trouble, unless we get down there and buy some season tickets and merchandise we will only have ourselves to blame for our demise .
Support yours and Roland’s club , spend some money at The Valley now .
He’s too shy to ask for our help , so let’s do the right thing now and give it to him anyway .

I’m going to The Valley tomorrow to recover the bronze bust of Jimmy Seed that sits outside the boardroom (when it’s supposed to be sited inside the main entrance where it can be seen by fans).

The family loaned it to the club in happier times, but while this regime seems intent on wrecking the club the bust can come home, and I’ll return it once new owners are in place. It’s a small gesture, but one that I hope makes a point.

    I’m aiming for midday.

Excellent idea. Although in case Tiny Tony calls in his goons you'd better dress appropriately. ( I wonder why he's got one yellow and one green foot?)

He's not a shrewd businessman, he's a complete fuckwit that gaffer tapes his Asda shoes and buys football clubs that he's never watched, he's a rich Belgian Worzel Gummidge

Knowing how shockingly run the club is, if Roly doesn't sell there will be a bare plinth sitting outside the boardroom at the start of the season as nobody will have the gumption to move it.

Funny that Cawley is only talking about the Aussies.

No mention of the elusive British group and where their bid is. Almost as if it didn't exist.

Duchatelet and Muir playing poker with Roland threatening to sell everything that moves to get his way.

No doubt in my mind that Duchatelet is the villain here as deal or no deal he could choose to keep players and sanction a pre-season trip.

Only he is deliberately running down the squad and making cuts.

Problem is because of the nda they'll only give you a morcel of info.

I've been extremely optimistic, probably too much so, in the past few weeks but I now fear for the future of our club. This is the first time since we waited for that shipment of Rubber that I actually think the future of Charlton Athletic is in peril.
