This Whispering comments lark

I done it a couple of times but nothing come up in toolbar on the left as 'whispered to' 'whispered to you'. Why ?? Any help appreciated !!

    You should see any whispers to and from under the heading "Whispered Discussions" in the toolbar, but only for entire Discussions that are whispered. Comments won't show up in the control panel. Any whispers to and from in a public discussion will only show up as new comments (in red on the discussions page) like all other comments. If you want, I'll see if I can work up an extension to do what you want... an alert in the control panel for whispered comments.
