Vaping on Thailand

Anyone been vaping or on Ecig in Thailand recently? Understand the law now states it is illegal but have heard conflicting reports it is tolerated if done secretly? Obviously respect the law of another county but would be upset if I saw others vaping away....

Not worth messing with the law in Thailand. Risking a big fine or worse, just not worth it.
Met numerous people in Thailand that thought drugs were 'fine' until they had a large fine foisted upon them0 -

Vaping is illegal in Thailand. Why? The official line is that it's for health reasons. Most people believe it's to protect the Thai Government's monopoly in the tobacco industry! If someone is going to partake of nicotine, the Government don't want their share of the spoils to be reduced in any way.
My advice is to bring your vaping gear and hope that you don't get stopped at customs. If you do then plead ignorance. I've not known anyone to be fined or even have their items confiscated. If you do run into problems there are places that sell illicit vape products, though as a non-smoker/non-vaper I wouldn't know where.
Don't do it openly but you won't be arrested for vaping in a private area such as a balcony, terrace or garden. Do it, just be careful.0 -

I went last year and vaped in Bangkok and Pattaya without any problems. It may have changed in that time.0

My friend just got back from a month in Thailand, he spent 3 weeks down on the islands and vaped everywhere and was fine, his first night in Chiang Mai ended with him getting all his stuff taken and a fairly hefty fine, I'd be careful.0
