Surprised Dele Alli isn't starting - very unconvincing in his cameo the other night and don't really see what else Lingard has to prove.

Bit of a strange formation isn't it?

    ----------------------Butland

    Walker ----Trippier -----Stones ------Tarkowski ------Young

    ---------------Dier -----------Oxlade-Chamberlain

    ------Sterling---------Vardy-----------------Lingard

Putting two right-backs in the starting 11 isn't a great start.

He played Walker and Trippier together in the match on Friday. Walker played as a right sided centre back.

Looks to be the same 3-4-3 to me... Pickford, Gomez, Rose, Henderson, Rashford out & Butland, Tarkowski, Young, Dier, Vardy in.

    -----Walker-Stones-Tarkowski

    Trippier-Dier-OxChamberlain-Young

    ------Sterling-Vardy-Lingard

Problem with a 3-4-3 is that it leaves the two central midfielders a bit exposed. Hopefully Dier and Chamberlain run the game for us.

    Tarkowski ?

I'm expecting a call myself any minute.

One of the in form centre backs this season. Honestly I'm glad he's getting a go over Smalling/Jones etc.

I've heard that the formation is:

    Butland

    Trippier - Walker - Tarkowski - Young

    Dier - Stones

    Sterling - Oxlade-Chamberlain - Lingard

    Vardy

(That's what you said, wasn't it Karl?)

Should be 2-0 Italy. England playing the way Holland played against us Friday.

This is shit nobody doing themselves any favours so far.

Italy high press means we need to play quicker but Dier and Ox are not comfortable enough receiving the ball under pressure facing their own goal.

So we just pump it long to Vardy.

Spain and Germany have had some quality friendlies in this round of friendlies.

Played each other and then tonight:
    Germany vs Brazil
    Spain vs Argentina

Quality. Quick thinking there and sterling did very well to get up and just keep at it rather than rolling around in the floor

At Craven Cottage watching Colombia v Australia. Australia actually playing the better football.

He's shown plenty. Done the most since I wrestled the TV away from bakeoff

Shame Lallana can’t get a game at Liverpool cos he’s got the potential to be our most influential and creative player.

VAR is a fucking joke. Embarrassing.

Not sure we can argue that. Tarkowski caught him, penalty.
  • VAR is being so misused - how was that a blatant error?

The World Cup will have 250 pens if that’s the precedent set.

That was VERY soft. Seen worse/more contact during corners. Is VAR going to give a penalty at every corner now?

I can. Never a foul or the game may as well be non contact.
