Came across this in the Puzzle Compendium. Reminded me of a certain someone...

    For ease of reading...

"Jack Moanwell is the manager of Knottferry Athletic Football Club, which has been having a particularly poor season, even by it's own low standard. After a creditable 0-0 draw six weeks ago when the match was abandoned after five minutes because of heavy snow, Knottferry has lost five matches by varying scores. Each time Jack had come up with a different excuse at the after-match press conference. From the clues given below, can you name the opposing team on each of the given dates, work out the score, and say what excuse Moanwell gave on each occasion?"

The options for excuses are: Appalling referee, goalkeeping error, injuries, over-physicality and state of pitch. Swap goalie error for takeover and I think we've got Karl bingo!

Well the fact that whilst the takeover is up in the air, Robinson is not going to be sacked is an opportunity for him. I don't mind the crap he spouts in press conferences when the team is doing ok to be honest. It is up to him to stuff the criticism down our throats by turning things around. And it is up to players who may be unsure of their futures to impress this or other clubs by playing well.

All this talk of him going to Oxford - I can't honestly see there being a big queue for his services and seeing as he is in a job right now, his best bet is to stop feeling sorry for himself and turn things round. He has people around him - call a meeting and discuss options to save our season. No holds barred, criticism of tactics ect... Why do teams find it so easy to stop us? Why do we not look dangerous enough? Why do we make key defensive slips? Explore what alternative tactics might work. No suggestion is ridiculous sort of thing. I would imagine an in house meeting between Robbo, JJ, Bowyer and Euell chaired by Keith Peackock may be helpful. But that is for him - for us we have to see the team turning it round starting from Plymouth on Saturday!

    Diarra

Of the verbal variety is what KR spouts most of the time.

I'd be happy with Keith Peacock as caretaker for the rest of the season with JJ and Bowyer backing him up. Anyone who is serious about a long term career as a manager wouldn't want the job at present.

We need to restore something back to the club - at least Keith would give us back a little dignity. KR and RD are just killing us...

    Keith Peacock is nearly 73.

He's been a great servant and ambassador for the club.
But his time being involved in the dressing room has passed.

Karl Robinson is 37, a mediocre manager and talks bullshit. His time in the dressing room has passed.

I'm sure Keith Peacock could stand in for the rest of the season and our football would certainly be no worse. I'm certainly not suggesting him as anything other than a stand in for a few games. KR has failed us.

Roy Hodgson is nearly 71 and still managing in the Premiership - I don't expect KR to be in the same position.

You can be good or bad at any age.

I don't read that as he is off. It is dependent on Oxford or another club taking him which I don't see happening.

after that smirk as he walked off the pitch it wouldn't surprise me that he's off. and I for one would be glad.
  • Be absolutely delighted if he left today. Let JE and JJ take over (I’m not sure about Bowyer), 3 days to prpepare for saturdays game, a new opportunity for every player to stake their claim to a starting spot might give the whole place a slight lift. Then it’s a new mini season for the last 10 games, with an outside chance of playoffs.

The club has completely stagnated at the moment, something needs to budge and we all now it won’t be Robinson’s shit tactics.

I just feel it would lift the place if he left - we need to at least attempt to play football. Nothing to lose....
  • He’s not going anywhere. Not yet anyway.

Personally, and I admit I am a bitter anti-Robinson individual, I read it as Robinson still dropping others in it (this time Fosu and Jackson) rather than take real responsibility.
  • I cannot stand when he does his "Ill take the blame" routine and then proceeds to spend 5 mins telling everyone how in fact he is not to blame and its everyone elses fault. I will admit I liked him when he first came in, talked a good game and attempted to change our style of play into something better. HOWEVER it is now very obvious that he is all fart and no shit.

think he will leave at end of season, why would you go to a club who could still be league 2 next season.

You have got as much chance of Robinson being off to Oxford, as the Takeover happenning imminently.

He gives me the impression that when he farts he always follows through.

If KR does go (fingers crossed) and Kewell does come in, then that surely puts any takeover rumours to bed regarding which party is leading the charge?

I'm in agreement with ValleyGary, just give it to Euell/JJ for the rest of the season and at least give us a fighting chance of a late surge to the play-offs.

Sounds like lazy journalism from someone just reading the takeover thread

Who will receive his resignation and how will staff be authorised to announce it?

Potentially another regime where considerations outside of what's best for the first XI take precedent? Kewell is no Fraeye, but why would getting an Aussie manager in be top priority? Brings to mind the stuff mentioned early on with these guys about wanting to build a hub for young Australian talent - I'm instantly suspicious of any aims other than sustainable footballing success after the past four years.

    Quite possibly just overthinking it...
  • Apparently, KR would have no shortage of offers and has done a good job with us....

And, it's not like the Mirror to be wrong or anything.
