I’d imagine it’s a “wow” to be a ken to pull of ‘stealing a promotion chasing teams manager’Viewfinder said:The bookies have Robinson at evens favourite for the Oxford job, miles clear of the next name. However, the Oxford owner told the local press the new manager, to be announced on Tuesday, will have a "wow factor" with the fans - surely that rules out Robinson. Unless it's: "Wow! Can't we do better than him?"

Sounds to me like it won't be Robbo then, but also because the bookies had him at 6/1 on last week, so he's drifting. Sven would have wow factor, and if the owner is as rich as they say, they could afford him.Viewfinder said:The bookies have Robinson at evens favourite for the Oxford job, miles clear of the next name. Also I doubt Robbo would be sounding out the Fleetwood job if knew he was going to Oxford.1 -
Could it be Robbo with Sven in a DOF role ?JamesSeed said:

I remember it well.RedChaser said:
He's got fond memories of the Valley scoring twice in the 6-1 demolition of us by Leeds 15 years ago to ease their relegation worries. Viduka hat trick and Ian Harte the other scorers with Jason Euell getting our consolation.Covered End said:Kewell would be an obvious choice if The Aussie deal is going through.
Crowd over 26k for that match so at least he knows what a near full house would look like.

Actually, not a bad call. They could let Sven handle the media side for a start.Richard J said:

Apologies for being ignorant, but does Kewell have any managerial experience ?
Just as well I doctored the 2016 publicity piece re POTY to state " The manager will then bring this part of the evening to a close...."
Sorry, Robbo but thought it best to hedge my bets.1 -

When he first arrived Karl made excuses for KM and RD, praising them for everything they did for him and the club. Then he did the same for Richard Murray, throughout he has made excuses for himself blaming the refs, injury and gaps in the squad, caused by the two he started off praising. Now he blames the players and supporters, the two groups that a decent manager never criticises.19

*personally I don't see him as a `manager' and never have. He's just a bloke that works in football.

Just checked on-line this morning @ skybet... Robbo now 1/4 on with Sven 2nd favourite @ 6/1. That's a big gap between first and second favourite and bookies don't normally get it that wrong.0

Odds based on money laid. If you put a tenner on Robinson now his odds will drop, especially in such a tiny market.
KR may get the job but odds a poor indicator.4 -
Exactly this. Bookies run scared in these markets simply because there's always someone who will know more than them.Henry Irving said:Redmidland said:Just checked on-line this morning @ skybet... Anyone asking to put something substantial on a manager will raise a red flag.
If you rang up now and asked to put a grand on Karel Fraeye he'd instantly become the new favourite and they'd probably let you put 100 quid max on him.4 -

Harry Kewell wouldnt be a bad choice
He's doing well @ Crawley and got them challenging for the Play-Offs against some much stronger sides, and that was after a very slow start.
Has also got goals out of KAG remember2 -
I reckon Sven will be announced for the Oxford job tomorrow.5

Blimey, hadn't seen that before...I'd lost faith in him yonks ago,but well that just puts another firm nail in the coffin & if the Karl fan club could actually see the parallel universe in which he works...cause let's face,it he will never changed & even if he did,its too far down the line for us know...he has got to go...!!Henry Irving said:0 -
And would be a clear sign of the people that had the shallowest pockets and the shortest arms getting ownership of the club
If the aussies are successful then don’t get too excited as they did not have anywhere near the amounts needed to drive the club forward
Unless they have found a new investor or the Greek is back onboard

Can't see why any league one side would want Sven as manager. Hasn't managed here for years, will know nothing about the division or the players, will demand a huge salary, probably more than 5-10 times any of the players he's managing, he really won't give a shit and i'd be amazed if he lasted longer than 6 months.0

.....yeah....but other than that?3

You'd think so, but this is the world where Meire got a job as CEO at a club in a higher division after everything that went on here.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Can't see why any league one side would want Sven as manager. Like a Done deal imminently or a proper one mate2

I'm not overly bothered about them having billions to spend. I just want owners who want to run a football club properly.nth london addick said:And would be a clear sign of the people that had the shallowest pockets and the shortest arms getting ownership of the club
