If this petition is well-circulated among clubs' supporters, the numbers backing it could be impressive.
For those who have yet to sign, the indications are that, when 10,000 signatures are attained, the government will respond to the petition. Were 100,000 signatures to be attained, the petition would be considered for debate in Parliament.

...but must admit I would have preferred "British" football to have been used in the wording of the petition (don't give a f*** about the 2 arse cheeks but I'm fond of Dundee and Dumbarton's my big team)...
