Lee Rigby memorial vandalised

Class B drug.......Class A c*nt.Henry Irving said:9 -
So it was an OAP that lived in the flats and thought all the flags etc were inappropriate as,
"There is a memorial in a church nearby which is 700 metres away and Mr Burke's view is that this is a more appropriate place for tributes to be left."
He absolutely shouldn't have done it and if he was unhappy should have complained to the council, but I can understand him being unhappy.
I drive past it a few times every week and I'll be driving past again within the hour.
I must say that with all the football flags hanging, it can appear a little like a perimeter fence at an England away game.
I'm absolutely fine with it, especially as a football fan, but then again I don't live there.
RIP Lee.0 -
No need to listen to the family's wishes then.11

I really hope you don't follow that awful, horrible stuff.paulie8290 said:9 -
Goodness me Paulie, not sure what I'll-informed point you were trying to make but even thinking of quoting a source like the "Loyalist Channel" tells us more than we ever wanted to know about your political leanings.paulie8290 said:

It was one of our lot that put the flag back up then a few others done the same once they he had done it.

I went past yesterday and there were flags still on the railings. May be new ones.
Hope people keep putting them up .0 -
See, that's where the problem lies though. Someone retweets something that's from a pretty appalling account, and you retweet it yourself without knowing anything about it.paulie8290 said:

'course mate, similar to your explanation for starting a thread citing a black player accusing a white player of racism without knowing all the facts.paulie8290 said:

Then maybe don't retweet political tweets where you don't understand the implications.paulie8290 said:

After his mother actually saw the "official memorial" she said she WASNT happy with it
IMO the place where he was murdered should be where the plaque (whatever) is.

Maybe that account is racist, but the post itself isnt.

OK re-posted but usually re-posting something without comment suggests you agree with it.paulie8290 said:

Of course the post itself was racist. The truth is the family didn't want it there, the post claimed it was because people were offended, no prizes for guessing who they're implying were offended. The truth isn't a story, but only scum like that account would choose to lie about why the memorial was removed I order to stir racial unrest and score pathetic political points.paulie8290 said:

Since then, from what I can see, she is happy with the amended memorial. And it appears pretty clear that the family approve totally of removing the ad-hoc "memorial". I think that their opinion should be the one that is respected.Goonerhater said:After his mother actually saw the "official memorial" she said she WASNT happy with it

The ad hoc memorial should be removed if there's an official one in place. The twats getting offended about their Union Jacks being removed are just looking for an excuse to get offended - this has nothing to do with Lee Rigby.
Perhaps all these patriots could maybe do something constructive instead?

It might be Luddite and flat earth, but despite the very minor notion that I might be excluded from something or other I don't regret not being on Facebook or twitter.
They are everywhere, and venerable institutions operate on the assumption that everybody is on those platforms, not everybody is. Just like not everybody eats meat and fish.
Twitter and Facebook are very wealthy private businesses and not everybody wants to be involved with them, from the outside both platforms seem to me to be the MacDonald's of the internet in that they are everywhere, on the surface attractive, yet ultimately damaging especially to human intellect and interaction.
Watching the rule by tweet of Trump and others, and the very selective perspective that Facebook shows to the world often leading to trouble and strife for people I really don't understand why people use those things. Maybe there is something massive I am missing out on, but I doubt it, perhaps Twitter and Facebook are passing phenomena that will disappear as quickly as they arrived.3
