Lewis Hamilton - 4 times

Well - forget the race which was almost compromised by Vettel getting a touch of the Schumachers and driving in to him (can't believe more wasn't made of it)...

But we have the first ever 4 time British world champion.

In the year he broke the all time poles record.

And he beat Vettel in relatively similar cars.

I couldn't give a shit about where he lives and the clothes he wears.

A British sporting legend.

At present he is an MBE - the same as bloody Paul Collingwood and Coulthard. That will surely change in January

Fantastic and well deserved 4th Chamionship.

He was well ahead of Vettel when he turned into him.

As you say, couldn't give a shit where he lives, he's a British WC.

    Brilliant

Not the race he would have wished to win the title with but he done what he had to do.

Remember James Hunt winning thinking WOW now Lewis has done this 4 times ....

Thanked the Mexico fans, never seems in trouble, comes from working class background - and?, pretty much admitted he foresake his youth years to pursue his dream.

Now decided he doesn't want to pay 50% tax +. Who wants that? Would you @bolloxbolder ?

    Well done Lewis

Brilliantly, consistent season and some superb driving.

They showed he was missing a chunk of his rear diffuser which impeded him and stopped him making more progress today. Lauda also acclaiming him as the car isn't as fast as last year and he's had to drive better than ever to win.

Congratulations Lewis...thoroughly deserved championship & fantastic achievement to be a 4 time winner!!

He's British - why wouldn't he do it? I would given the chance.

Sure Vettel would raise the German flag if he did it.

Vettel lives in Monaco, along with Rosberg, Coulthard, and a whole load of them.
What is the matter with you lot? - even raising the Union Jack is wrong now. !

Nothing wrong with raising a flag; Hamilton has lived in Switzerland for over ten years

Mo Farah lives in America (and wasn't even born in Britain) but that doesn't mean I support him any less.

    Agreed - it's a facile comment.

I just don't like the guy. I acknowledge he is a brilliant driver but his personality , innate arrogance and general demeanour irritate.

I lived in Singapore for quite a while ... also lived in a few other countries ... does that mean I couldn’t support England at the time?

On a thread about him becoming arguably the best British driver in history I really don’t care where he lives. He’s a British sporting legend regardless.
