16' Close! Clarke thumps a strike towards goal and Gillespie turns it around his post. Corner... #cafc

A really well timed run and a peach of a ball from JFC. No more than Fosu deserved after the absolute kicking he got at the weekend, and it was a good finish under pressure to put it between the goalkeeper's legs. Think that's something like four assists for JFC now as well.

We'd tried that ball three or four times before then and it didn't come off but we clearly see Walsall's high line as something to exploit with Tarique and Ricky making runs behind.
  • Good job Fosuuuuuuuu,

    TARIQE FOSU! #cafc

Really pleased for Fosu, hasn't been at his best the last couple of games but always committed and tries and theres a good player in there.

Yeah got his finger tips on it, a really good save. Josh was wheeling away thinking he'd scored.

20' Charlton break forward with Holmes, Magennis and Fosu, the latter crosses and the hosts scramble clear. #cafc

21' Great chance! Fosu slips in Holmes and he fires off target with his left foot.

If he had a left foot he'd probably be in a higher league...

22' Close again! Bauer rises to meet a JFC corner at the far post but Gillespie manages to gather it. 1-0 Charlton here. #cafc

We really need to get this 2nd goal while we are creating chances.

Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic) wins a free kick in the defensive half.

Yes, I hope we don't regret not getting a bigger lead when we are so on top

Started well but need to keep the pressure up. Our line is about 20 yards further up the pitch than at the start of the game Saturday. Think that's helped by the fact we have Konsa in there who has recovery pace and who is better on the ball than Pearce. DaSilva picking up where he left off Saturday, stepping in to passing lanes and playing some great one-touch football. Josh, Tarique, and Ricky interchanging very well up front, being fed by Clarke and JFC. All that's missing is a second.
