    That's a proper football result.
Almost Curbs-like with Solly getting good reports too.
Well done lads - a much better result than it looks on paper.

Now come on Roland, spend 1.5m on the boy from St. Evenage this week, keep Kashi and Konsa and let's get on with it.

Mmm he isn't value for us at that price!

What I meant was AFKA won't bin you off for Brogib until hell freezes over and that's never going to happen  .

Yes but you bold highlighted - psychological games when I'm under pressure to deliver all the match reviews in bold highlights

Going to be honest, I'm struggling to bold highlight all the reviews from those that were there because every time I highlight the text, the options of cut, copy, select all etc are covering the bold icon on my I phone

I think red chaser, 31 year failure, forever addicted and south west addicks are those that have offered post match views that went so far

    Apologies if I've missed any

Just one question: how are Marshall and Reeves going to get into the team?

Apart from the normal injuries and the need to rest and rotate and all that, I think Fosu is going to need some time out of the team. He's still a little too inconsistent with his final ball. He will also be an absolute nightmare for defenses in this league coming off the bench with 20 minutes to go.

He's still only 21, only a couple years older than Karlan. I don't want to be overly critical as he's put in some great shifts this year, I just think it's a natural part of his progression.

Reeves played from the right a fair amount of MKD, or he could play through the middle with Clarke going to the right. Given how much those front three interchange, where they start probably doesn't massively matter.

Some highlights from a Rotherham fan, good angle of Bauer's goal and Kashi's goal-line clearance.

I've not been his biggest fan but if Magennis can get 100% fit, and stay that way, it's quite possible that he could score 20 goals this season. We have players who can cross the ball from both wings, and we're likely to get plenty of corners and free kicks. We'll certainly create far more chances than we did last season.
We definitely need one more striker, as it's a long season and all that, but Mag might have the season of his career, with luck.

    Edit: oh, and it M A G E N N I S

    ...... not Maginnis.

    And it's a hard G not a soft G.

The train up was rammed, with people standing in the aisles and a whole lot of Man United fans.

But it was a good afternoon out. I predicted a draw before the match, but when Rotherham failed to score in the opening minutes when the ball was loose in our box, I started to think it could be our day.

We ran a lot and I thought our fitness levels looked good. What is most striking about this group of players compared to recent seasons, is that there appears to be much more of a team spirit. There's a cohesiveness to our play and we look good; it's way too early to call really, but if we can keep up this standard, we should be "there or thereabouts".

Credit to Karl Robinson. I wasn't his biggest fan last season, and tbh I was surprised he didn't get sacked, but I'm more than happy to admit I was wrong. As ever under Roland though, the squad is too light and if anything is going to derail our promotion efforts this season, it'll be that. We really do need another striker.

Injury to their bloke during our 2nd goal. Kashi went down for 2/3 mins.

Kashi has been down like that in almost every game. Has my heart in my mouth!!

    Just got back.

Didn't think we actually played that well today compared with the previous games but those are the results that make a big difference come May. Great atmosphere too from those who travelled.

Thought Amos and the defence were immense. Rotherhams attacking two will cause problems for most teams in this league and not many will keep a clean sheet at their place.

Still have concerns about JM. I think the 10 behind him are good enough to make a serious challenge for the league but not sure he's up to scoring the goals we'll need. A few times today I saw Holmes seriously frustrated that quality crosses were being put in but no one was there to convert.

Just hope those controlling the budget will have liked what they've seen so far and give KR the funds needed to buy a quality striker and possibly a few squad players as I fear we don't have the depth to cope with more than the odd injury. Would be a shame to not make the most of what could be a promising season.

Interesting game, my first time watching them this season as I live in the North now. Apart from their first chance when Amos went down early and the ball looked like it was guaranteed to roll in I honestly don't think they looked like scoring.

We looked like we had a better game plan, we looked in better shape and we took our chances. For what we clearly lack in height and our physical game we make up for it with finesse. JFC, Josh, Clarke, Fosu, Holmes, Da Silva and Kashi are all absolutely mustard on the ball, none of them panic with the ball, all can skin someone or burst into space and all have a good footballing brain imo. There were a few times when I heard people shout to get it out etc but I think they look more than comfortable playing how they are. I saw Holmes and Clarke, maybe a few others make a few bad passes going forward trying to create something but when it mattered we moved the ball well. I think Bauer won every header today more or less, my motm comfortably. Felt he looked suspect last season and didn't trust him in the champ but his game has improved massively.

Gone on a bit but lastly the game went very quick for me and we honestly looked like we didn't come out of second gear, sort of just strolled through the game, knocked it about and ran forwards when we could. It went so quick for me that I swear when they announced the motm and we did a double sub I said to my girlfriend 'I don't know why Robbo is changing things around, we look very comfortable, also motm is a bit early' to then realise the game was pretty much over, was a bit bizarre. How their number 24 got motm is beyond me btw, he was horrendous and got bullied by our cb pairing

Great win against a very physical side and we made it look easy without really trying imo. Credit to our fans as well, we are a brilliant bunch and do come out in good voice, hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend
  • Charlton to go up, Palace to go down, 10/1.

Add West Ham down for treble. Saw their game today and they were terrible.

Flew back to California today and greeted with this news when I touched down in Oakland. A very good result. We're playing some attractive stuff and also scoring the goals all over the team. It's looking good.

But, injuries could do us, especially to key players like Holmes, Kashi and Magennis so let's keep 'em healthy. A winning momentum does help though as this has a knock on effect on other things, like fitness levels and a desire/confidence to win which, psychologically, could help keep bad injuries at bay. I'm a big believer in a positive mental attitude having a positive physical affect.

What has to be said about most of our players is that we can pass with a bit of zing as they all have the first touch to recieve comfortably. It is a very promising trait and Robinson needs to take credit for that. In football, the difference between good and bad passing can often be the reciever.

Good to see that he didnt think it was a foul on Proctor either, didnt think Robinson was trying to get us to kick it out and I hate to say we shouldnt have (and I'll be saying the same if the boot is on the other foot at some stage this season) - The bloke wasnt suffering from life threatening injuries (i.e. whack to the head) so no reason for it to be stopped because in addition he wasnt in an awkward position on the pitch, i.e. the game had to be stopped for Kashi because he was laying in the middle of the goal!!

One aspect I do take from this game though is the fact that Southend managed to lose 5-0 against this lot... How they did that I'll never know!!

To be fair - I thought Proctor was putting it on because he wanted to indicate to the ref it was a foul - I would have been livid had we kicked the ball out. I was surprised he was badly injured, but certainly no foul.

Im not a huge fan of Karl but I cant believe with this team there is 6 teams better than us in this league

The acid test is what happens when we've picked up a few injuries.

BRILLIANT STUFF LADS! Love an away win up north.

Let's hope you get used to it.

Good breakfast viewing for me in California. Over the years I have been in Cali for 36 games. Been keeping a count and we have won 29.

Should probably just not come home this time!

It's such a lovely country, er I mean state (don't want to get ahead of ourselves), isn't it?
We spend our time in Newport Beach so a couple of hour's north of you. Eagerly 'awaiting' another lovely so cal heatwave this week. Gonna be 105 at Disneyland. More like Palm springs! SD will be a lovely 85 with that lovely Pacific breeze
Ugh I don't miss SoCal summers. I'm actually living up in Oregon now. That said next couple days will be high '90s without the ocean breeze. Newport Beach is such a beautiful area.
I'm enjoying the SoLon summer this year, interspersed with a bit of SoCro and WeBel.

Result is soured by Robinson's post match which hints at no incoming striker. That is a piss poor show if it happens.

We've shipped out Igor, Ajose, Twatt. I'm convinced Novak would be out the door if anyone would take him. Mag, Novak and KAG are not the strikers on which to build a promotion campaign.

You could always do it the old skool way by typing the codes:
Less than b greater than at the start
Less than slash b greater than at the end

Just one question: how are Marshall and Reeves going to get into the team?

Just one question: how are Marshall and Reeves going to get into the team?

What usually happens is they sit on the bench and when someone gets injured or for a tactical move they replace the player and then hopefully for the sub he can play well enough to make the manager keep him in the side.

They showed it on the C5 highlights... Solly does nothing wrong, the player must get his studs caught in the turf - Definitely not a reason for the ball to be kicked out

I think its his way of slowing the game down and wasting a bit of time... i.e. yesterday it was because he hit his face on the netting

Must have hurt a bit because the net will be taunt but seriously? - Shouldnt need a few mins of physio surely Ahmed? ;)
