    Start believing people
    We are going up

I would be disappointed if we are not top 6 given we have Reeves in next week and Marshall in a month.

Good breakfast viewing for me in California. Over the years I have been in Cali for 36 games. Been keeping a count and we have won 29.

Should probably just not come home this time!

It's such a lovely country, er I mean state (don't want to get ahead of ourselves), isn't it?
We spend our time in Newport Beach so a couple of hour's north of you. Eagerly 'awaiting' another lovely so cal heatwave this week. Gonna be 105 at Disneyland. More like Palm springs! SD will be a lovely 85 with that lovely Pacific breeze

That's a decent result away against a team fancied to be among the challengers.

I saw Rotherham a few times last year on the net. I picked them for double relegation. They were the worst team I ever saw in the Championship last year. I personally think the whole club is destined to go belly up. This was no test. But glad we got 3.

iFollowed... good solid away win. No way a classic, just did what we had to do. First goal made a difference again. Can remember at least one good Rotherham chance early on that they wasted.

Pleased for Magennis especially. This team will create chances, should at least score more than last seasons 10. If he was a natural goalscorer he wouldn't be in this league.

Promising with Reeves and Marshall to come back though we still need that striker to give us enough options up front.

Ugh I don't miss SoCal summers. I'm actually living up in Oregon now. That said next couple days will be high '90s without the ocean breeze. Newport Beach is such a beautiful area.

If previous seasons are anything to go by, just wait for the injuries to start stacking up.

We're looking good so far this season, and if everyone stays fit, with Marshall and Reeves coming back to put pressure on the likes of Fosu and Clarke, we're going to get even better. It'll give us a threat from the bench as well, which I feel we lack at the moment. Exciting times.

I just wish we had the same sort of cover/competition up front. If we did, I think we would be challenging for the title.

(Ifollow) It certainly was not a performance with as much gloss and finesse as last week, but I'd argue it's more impressive. Tough northern away games like this are going to be the real test for us this season, as I can't see many teams being able to come to The Valley and beat us on our own patch. They had a pair of absolute giants up top but generally lacked technical ability to challenge us otherwise. Both goals were well taken, Bauer's especially, and although Rotherham had their opportunities, and arguably had the better of the game, they never looked like scoring. Special mention to Solly, thought he put in a real captains performance, didn't shirk a thing, and Bauer, who headed everything that came near him, got on the scoresheet and looked right back to his best.

We will get injuries and Marshall is out for a long spell. Our squad still looks thin to me if we get a couple of key players injured.

At the game. A great way to celebrate 50 years to the day of following Charlton Athletic. But as cabbles said to me this morning, no one cares.
To my mind, a win here is a statement of intent to be true promotion candidates.
My Addick friend from Stockport will celebrate his son's GCSE results and this win with a cream tea in Rotherham. Who needs the likes of Harrogate or York?
  • Good result. Looking forward to seeing a few games now.....

Just hope we don't get another sudden collapse a la 2015-2016 if a couple of injuries kick in.

2-0 away win against a team who were in a league above last season. Can't argue with that!

Next week will be a test of the squad depth with Marshall, Maggenis, Da Silva out and Reeves lacking matches.

First 10mins we were lucky not to concede. However, we rode our luck and defended well against a physically strong team. Especially, knowing they previously won their last home match 5-0.

Ben Amos played really well, making some greats saves and some excellent crosses.

Additionally, it was good to see the Nigel's score being continually shown on the screen throughout the match.

Good to get out of that dump with 3 points.

Luckily we're playing Oldham, bottom with zero points so far, and who'll also lose 2 players to callups

Thought we were up against it to start. We rode our luck and defended well.

Amos had an absolute awesome game between the sticks. Made crucial interception after interception, save after save.

Special shout out for JFC his slide across goal at the start prevented us from conceding. He grew into the game and is going to be a very important player for us.

Nice to see us go two up front in the final minutes. I thought our defence was superb, yes we had some lady luck.

Fans were excellent and some cracking songs.

    Onwards we march.

    That's a proper football result.
Almost Curbs-like with Solly getting good reports too.
Well done lads - a much better result than it looks on paper.

Now come on Roland, spend 1.5m on the boy from St. Evenage this week, keep Kashi and Konsa and let's get on with it.

I agree with you Rotherham are vastly overrated but last season this is the sort of game we would have struggled in
This season I feel will be totally different

Good result, was hoping for a point expected less.

Result is soured by Robinson's post match which hints at no incoming striker. That is a piss poor show if it happens.

That's a fantastic header from Bauer; a standing jump, 12 yards out and directing it back across the goal into the corner.
    Brilliant Fucking Goal

My iFollow feed was a bit behind the action (i.e. Twitter said that Fosu had a corner at one stage when Amos was taking a Goal-Kick)... I didnt check twitter too often as didnt want it to ruin the live action for me, yet did see the Goal mentioned before it happened - When that corner came in and saw Bauer making contact (basically further back from the penalty area), I really couldnt understand how he got it in from that far back.

Translation: Agreed... Bloody great header from the big man!!... After a poor season in League One last year he's doing much better this time round.
