One of those actors who filled the screen. Also, he was an authority on the history and use of the longbow; I've still got a book of his about it somewhere.

Whether standing with half his arm up an animal's rear , making 'V signs' as Churchill or a multitude of other roles Robert Hardy gave a good performance.

First made an impression on me in a second world war drama called Manhunt (late 60's?).
Always had a real presence.
