Fuck me, Jennings is not out!
That's booked his place in the Test side for the next 5 years!
  • How many overs were bowled yesterday?

5 too many to get a 50% refund unfortunately.

Curse of tests at the oval strikes again for us.

I was thinking about you yesterday when the rain started to fall, that's real bad luck.
I hope you did something else to make up for it and wasn't one of those poor souls I saw sitting in the rain under an umbrella for hours. I'm not sure why anyone would do that.

The last time we were at The Oval and there was heavy rain, we went to Chinatown for a few hours and got back as play was restarting, whilst some people just sat in the rain getting drenched.

    Jennings out for 48

Is that enough to keep his place. I was thinking he needs a 50 as a minimum. 48 isn't a 50 so I would drop him

To be honest we thought we'd see less cricket as it was meant to rain from 1 but they thought they'd come back at 5 for a couple of hours so we were going to head off to imperial war museum for a couple of hours and come back however, it didn't quite work like that, they took early lunch, so we returned after lunch and when it stopped again we had our lunch then had a couple of drinks, it wasn't even raining that badly at times so we went up to our seats and laughed at the rope tractor going round tripping up the stewards and the Yorkshire tea band who played for those still sitting in their seats. Listening to TMS tribute too which was brilliant time went quite quickly and we went back down to the concourse for another drink, and then they had the inspection. We walked round the ground to find a loo and ended up watching all the players come out of the ground. If I knew how to add pics to the site I would put them on here. All friendly men signing autographs for the kids. Cook said he was sorry he couldnt do anything about the weather. We weren't in a hurry to get home so watched all SA then Eng come out then came home. Enjoyed the day, as always, and wasn't surprised it was a wash out. Back to lords in September for West Indies.

I agree, have a bit of sympathy for Westley though, he has grafted really well and deserves his 50, root &co should be upping it though

I'm sure Root has been pumping himself up with soft jazz and show tunes during lunch. South Africa won't know what's hit them.

    211-5 Lead by 389.
  • Curious run out fot Ali. Seems he was given out cos one end of the bail was off the stump but the other was attached. Seems wrong. What happens if like in pole vault , it jumps off and comes back down in place?

I'm normally pretty conservative when it comes to the declaration but I would have given them 10 mins to bat before tea.

Yes, it was weird to bat until tea, rather than declare 30 minutes earlier

    Tickets to tomorrow £20

I'm sure the 3 hr session had something to do with it although I agree, 10 minutes at then wouldn't have been a bad idea

Reckon TRJ needs a 10-fer to get MOTM. If Stokes gets any more it's probably beyond him regardless

Stokes on a hat-trick. That would be some achievement to go with his century in the first innings.

No - one has ever taken a hat-trick in 100 tests at The Oval - would have been quite fitting for Stokes after his century in first innings.
