Not bothered about losing that game, as we played a weakened team.

If Hales, Root, Stokes etc had been playing, we would have won that at a canter.

South Africa played a weakened team too though.

Although I'm also not too bothered about the result. Entertaining game
  • Just watched the highlights from yesterday. How England managed to lose that I have no idea.

As for the Roy obstruction, it was the correct decision as he clearly ran across the wicket to block the stumps

Deciding game today at Cardiff - no doubt its a used pitch.
Odd line up for England. Morgan has rested himself.

1 Alex Hales, 2 Jason Roy, 3 Dawid Malan, 4 Jos Buttler (capt), 5 Sam Billings, 6 Liam Livingstone, 7 Liam Plunkett, 8 David Willey, 9 Chris Jordan, 10 Tom Curran, 11 Mason Crane.

    So, no Bairstow,Root,Stokes,Morgan,Ali,Rashid,Wood.
Cant see us wining this with a line up that has Plunkett coming in at 7 - unless the batters hit form.

Bairstow must be pretty pissed off to lose his place again.

SA win toss - England to bat first.

In T20 you should not have to rely on the tail for runs the top six should be able to bat for at least 17 or 18 overs

If you can hit the ball 150 feet straight up, there's runs there

Another debut, hopefully Malan does better than Livingstone did in his debut match. A big match for Billings too

Bilbo needs a big innings to show what he's capable of but I'm going to be nervous as soon as he arrives at the crease...

Watching Athletics on my laptop & cricket on the TV so that's me sorted for the afternoon.

I think he's made his point already - so therefore, i think he's been rested.

Malan looking excellent. I remember having a nice chat with him at a county warm-up game ten years ago. He'd been in the country for about a week! The start of a long journey...

At the game - Malan started well. Great movement. Hales struggling after knock to knee. Crowd loving SA horror fielding. Bloody cold!!

That is about the worst drop a Saffer has ever committed in any form of the game

    Malan 50 - well played.
  • I remember seeing Malan play a couple of years ago & thought he was an excellent player. Not surprised by this knock

Well, that's Livingstone's lot at international T20 level, surely.

Livingstone's pain is brief this time

For now. He's young though! Don't write someone off completely on the basis of two appearances

Agree. But I think his future lies more in the longer format.

3 wickets in 5 balls - gonna fall 10/15 short because of crap selection.

    2 runs off final over.

Problem is, even with Plunkett coming in at 7 we only have 5 bowlers.
