RIP Brian.
My parents and I once bumped into him near the rose gardens up Castlewood in the late 70s early 80s.
Really makes us of a certain age realise time is upon us!2 -

Ah bugger. Definitely getting to the age that every time one of my childhood heroes trends on twitter there's a moment of trepidation as to why that is. Nice photo here from Derek Griffiths of the PlaySchool gang back together

He did Dappledown Farm when I was a kid and there was an animal character called Stubble. RIP!0

In the 70s, as a milkboy, I delivered his pintas when he lived in Havelock Road !

Part of my early betting career.
Me and my cousin used to get a 10p mix after school. Would watch play school and bet a sweet on which window it would be.
However I used to have home dinners so I had already seen the episode at lunch time so I would win 3 out of 4 as used to let him guess first.6 -

When I was growing up we had a family holiday in a hotel in Swanage at the same time that Brian Cant was staying there. I remember him as a very nice person.

Brian Cant was an excellent narrator and an amusing chap.
Many of us will always remember him with affection.
Here he is introducing Trumpton...and assisting Captain Flack in his roll-call.https://youtu.be/CKgjYlL1anQ

I went to the same infant school as his son (Wentworth in Dartford)
It was always exciting when the man from play school came to pick his son up.
Good memories
