No brainer really, it's just the majority that doesn't know it.

Well we know that Palace will get the South London vote. Their strip says so (-Greenwich).

    "Grey's penalty failure"

Bloody hell after everything that went on during the game thats the ONE thing they could have pinpointed on.

What about Ilic's clean sheet record broken in style or the fact that Clive Mendonca scored the first Wembley Hat-Trick since Hurst in the '66 World Cup Final!!

Could quite easily have said: "This match was voted as one of the top events (not just sporting) ever held at the old Wembley" and just left it at that!!

Im actually shocked that the Blackpool 3-2 win over Cardiff isnt in there and that the QPR win over Derby is!!
  • I went onto the BBC website believing that there can be only one winner but I didn't realise that there have been so may high scoring games.

Still think ours must be the best one.

Ours is the only one that would go on a list of best ever Wembley matches IMO.

Absolutely this. We get a three word billing for the match that contained, quite possibly, the greatest hat-trick ever and almost certainly the greatest seen at Wembley. And what are those three words?

Grey's = the possessive form of the name of a member of the losing team.
Penalty = forfeit for a misdemeanour.
Failure = Something that did not work.

Absolutely unbelievable that a match containing so much action, skill and excitement could be described in such negative terms. The BBC are a disgrace. Where's Big Rob when we need him?

Come on people get bloody voting... Both the Hull 1-0 win over Bristol City and QPR 1-0 win over Derby are leading ahead of us!!

The trouble is that it's a vote for the best moment rather than best game.

Malcolm Macdonald got 5 at Wembley in the 70s.
Also lineker must have scored a Wembley hat trick.

Agreed, and in a penalty shootout, someone misses

"Claridge in the last minute" against Palace is a much better moment

David Speedie, Bryan Robson and Eric Cantona also scored Wembley Hat Tricks before Mendonca.

They had some former players from the past 30 years. I looked for the Charlton player....bizarrely I didn't spot Matt Holland before he was introduced. But of course he was there because of playing for Ipswich (before us)
