"When we tested it in the laboratory, we found it could generate enough cutting force to split a small-to-medium Jack Russell Terrier right across the middle" was when I clicked!Lincsaddick said:

Been banned at my daughter's school. Surprisingly because of bullying, not because they are shit.
Does anyone recall a crazed in the late 80s for Russel Spinners, which were yoyos with a fizzy drink on them? The whole school had them. I had a "coke super" which apparently wasn't as good as my mates "sprite professional". I knew better tricks though2 -
It's a simple mistake to make. I mean, everyone's first assumption should be trust an article that includes a quote from an actual policeman.Lincsaddick said:

PC Ernest Peassi of the Southend Community Action Team told our Chief Reporter that the improvised spinning weapon was ‘incredibly easy’ to make at home.
After all, who wouldn't believe something PC Peassi says?1 -

These things do serve a purpose. They are heavily used by kids with autism and ADHD as a soothing device. My niece's kid has dyspraxia and finds them really useful. Apparently it helps with concentration, etc.0

These started cropping up in tbe zoo i work at. Suddenly the kids started bringing them to lessons as "help with stress". So i got one myself. It is surprisingly comforting, not that i spend endless hours of course.0

Got a spinner and was of those fidget cubes at work. Probably saved the company about £6000 on replacing chewed pens and rulers.1

We have about 1000 kids at the school I teach at and only one of them has a condition which means that he is allowed a fidget spinner in lessons. The craze really took off about two weeks ago and because our school hasn't banned them, the teachers are wasting time telling the kids to put them away. One we've done that and confiscated phones and handed out pens to the kids who can't be bothered to bring one to school and then we've made sure that the title, date and learning objectives are written down and underlined, it's time to pack away.0
-
I bet every kid in school now claims to have the condition now.
The day after we found out about tourettes in my school in the 80s all hell broke loose.13 -
Yes several have been claiming they need them. Still, I prefer fidget spinners to phones.0

I was at Eltham Green at the time and it was all we talked about for days.
I think it overtook everyone's previous morbid fascination with Joey Deacon.1 -
