Charlton U23s v Bromley (away) in Kent Senior Cup Semi-final

That was the worst set of penalties in a penalty shoot out I have ever seen.0
-
I blame the protests. How can you expect young players to score a pen when they know if they do well they will have to play for the first team and witness flying pigs, beach balls and AK47 assault rifles.
Well done CARD what a great organisation. Hope you are proud of what you have done tonight.16 -
Did they not want to win the Kent Senior Cup?1

To quote the immortal YouTube bard, taken down from the net, way to early and in his prime...
"This facking season is facking aids mate... facking aids!!!"0 -
Welling pitch very bumpy. Charlton Under 23s, generally more quality but Welling. Physically strong. Charlton bit lacking in final third. Thanks @wellingfan. It was enjoyable to watch.
Appalling Charlton penalties at end that could be used in a training video of how not to take penalties.1 -
Good atmosphere in the wings bar1

The winner of the Kent Cup gets £2000, the runner up gets £1000. Would have been wasted in Roland's pocket, glad Welling won!2

Haven't seen Hanlan for a couple of seasons and he has clearly been putting the time off the pitch. Was very sharp last night.
As people have said worst set of pens ever, but credit to the Welling keeper Lewington who was class all night.
No-one from the Club in the boardroom there last night, which even though it's 'only' the Kent Cup was strange.

Obviously no buffet provided.6

I thought Charlton showed some class in the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up. In second half we where out played and muscled, I think this was because the young players did not adjust to playing up the slope at Welling. They struggled with the quick ball over the top from midfield a lot, the Welling players new what to expect and where running onto the ball first. Are best player on the night was are number 11, I believe that was Barnes.1

Playing up the slope, bumpy pitch, turn it in.
I think PVR has a decent pitch.

Hanlan was 11 last night, I thought he played well and Barnes and right back. The rest were pretty average and as you pointed out they were physically bullied by a big strong Welling team. Pitch also didn't help as it was very dry and bobberly. Was impressed by the number 11 for Welling, he gave Archie Edwards a torrid time.msomerton said:I thought Charlton showed some class in the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up. Not buying into the slope, but I definitely wouldn't describe the pitch as decent. I've played on better sunday league pitches recently and I don't play at a high standard.Robbo on the wing said:Playing up the slope, bumpy pitch, turn it in.

To be fair, Goldberg said in the bar after the game that he felt Charlton struggled in the 2nd half partly due to the pitch.Robbo on the wing said:Playing up the slope, bumpy pitch, turn it in.

Are Bromley trying to steal Welling's glory? (Thread title...)0

You are aware that some of the players played 90 minutes the day before in Barnsley?
No wonder they looked a bit leggy in the 2nd half.0 -

KR and entourage ( daughter and two other guys) arrived about 10 minutes after kick-off, sat toward the front of the main 'stand' just to the right of the press area. Karl had short (smiling) chat with Dillon Phillips as the players walked off at half-time (given the saves he had made, could have been 'You're playing Saturday, son'...). KR went to the dressing room at h/t, then went to the bench for the 2nd half.falconwood_1 said:Haven't seen Hanlan for a couple of seasons and he has clearly been putting the time off the pitch. How many turned up at Bromley last night?1

Relax, everyone. We're saving our penalty shoot out luck for the play offs.1

Good on him. He's obviously unpopular for many reasons, but I like that he was there to support the youngsters and got involved.chilham said:

His "entourage" was Ritchie Barker and Congo Chris (who looks about 15 close up) and if that girl was his daughter then he must have started young!chilham said:
