    Arsenal never used him properly, tonight is his 130th and last cap for Germany, one of those players that has never been "world class" but he should be regarded as a top player

    Thought we played well, if we'd had won there would have been some who would say who cares about the result in a friendly, so a good performance in a defeat is fine

    Not sure about the gladiator tune being played for 5 minutes after Podolski was taken off.

    Thought we played well and the shape worked BUT Germany never really got out of 2nd gear.

    You'll never see a German side play that poorly in a tournament. Whereas for England, sadly, that is probably the best performance you're going to get out of that group of players.

    I'm not sure Germany away is exactly comparable to Canada at home. Unless Scotland were playing Canada at ice hockey!

    Luke Shaw was fine. nothing special but then he hasn't played in months.
