I think the chance to get Curbs back was after Peeters. It would have been a masterstroke from Roland - but the thick coward is incapable of master strokes. Now the solution has to lie with JJ and Euell and lots of praying!

    You can say that again.

Honestly, no thanks. The man hasn't managed a team in a decade and I doubt he knows the league well enough. Plus, why would we want him to destroy his legacy by being another notch on Roland's bedpost ?
  • Kenny Jackett would be my choice.

They should have giving Kevin Nuggent a chance to see what he was capable of

I disagree, a competent manager would be doing better with the squad we have in this division.

Roland being a tosser doesn't mean we have to tolerate a terrible manager.

Anyone that wants Curbs to come back under these conditions can't like him very much

What we need right now is a circuit breaker to:
    A) Stop the downward spiral
B.) Convince potential investors that the infrastructure is in place to provide for a better, more successful future for the club.
Appointing Curbs could be the difference between getting a deal over the line, or not. After what I was told yesterday, I am now more convinced than ever that re appointing Curbs would be a prudent move for all concerned.

I would hate to see him back under this mob. It ain't gonna happen anyway, we have Congo Chris lined up to take over from Jimmy Tarbrush.

    Change the record please!
I personally do not want any Charlton legends back - until the end of this diabolical regime.
They may be great returning in the future, but not now.
  • I think Sir Philip Green should be appointed. He has experience of losing the dressing room. In fact, he lost all the dresses as well.

Curbs left West Ham and sued (and won) for constructive dismissal because of Board interference.

There is no way he could or would work with this shower.

Why does anyone think that Curbishley would come within 100 miles of this mob even if approached. Which he wouldn't be because he sums up everything that this regime hate about the club as it was - happy, friendly, successful etc.

I also hate to say that I am not sure he could turn this shambles round. Never go back ... it almost always ends up badly.

Sharing 'what you were told' would be a start but other than that what tells you that Curbs would come in to a league he doesn't know much about 10 years out of a job and all of a sudden churn results out? That's before considering the fact there's more chance of Arsenal hiring him than Katrien convincing him to join.

Firstly, if I give my word, I keep it, and I certainly wouldn't want to be the one to throw a spanner in the works.
Secondly, Curbs still knows his football. He may not have been out on the training pitch for many years, but I would still place his managerial skills above those of Robinson, Slade and all the other failures. Nothing tells me that he may be tempted, but he may feel that he has nothing to lose. Fans know how difficult it is to manage under this lot, and would forgive him, if he too, couldn't turn things around. But my main point is that having Curbs back at the helm, may make us a more attractive proposition to potential buyers, in which case Curbs could possibly find himself in an hopefully enviable position with an exciting challenge ahead. Would I want Curbs back in order to form a long term relationship with this current administration? definitely not.

I just hope that our next manager is one of the following. That way we can just go straight into hating them without all the bullshit about hoping they do well and giving them a chance:

    Kevin Muscat
    Dougie Freeman
    Alex Rae
    Ian Dowie
    Alan Pardew
    Steve Jones

We can dream. Curbs as director of football, CP as manager and JJ as Assistant. This would get the crowds back

Not if we are in the Conference and ground sharing with Orient.

It's more the case of could Goldfinger and Pussy Galore handle Curbs than could he handle them.....his knowledge, stature and no nonsense personality would be totally at odds with theirs.
Can you imagine him meeting up for a weekly chat for a team/training ground up date etc......she ain't got an effing clue I tell ya.......it would be an embarrassment beyond words!
He would have to be the No1 honcho from top to bottom and from the word go, nah they simply wouldn't know what hit 'em!

Different type of Kerb. But you'll notice how there's no point in installing one until you've got the foundations and other supporting material in place. You'll see from the cross-section how important the backing/support is. I'd suggest the same applies in this case.
