No A.Murray in the tie but Evans has us 1-0 up. Edmund in action in the second match.
Inglot and J.Murray in the doubles match tomorrow.

A shame Raonic and Andy aren't playing, but with both out it's hard not to see a comfortable British victoryCallumcafc said:Canada vs GB in the first round going on currently.

Edmund lost to Pospisil so it's 1-1 after day one.0
-
Kyle decided that it would be unfair on Sunday ticket holders if we won 3-0 and made Sunday meaningless!killerandflash said:

Watching on BBC. First game Edmond at 4-4 first set. Edmonds totally useless so far. 45% serve percentage. Canadian player a bit injured as well. Commentators trying to blame speed of court . Way too many unforced errors. Bit better third set but ultimately gutless.
Missed the Evans game as it was online / red button / not very well advertised.0 -
The deciding rubber is on now via Red Button BBC 2. Hope Edmonds shows a bit of fight and sprit in this match.0

Currently serving for a two sets to love lead.0
-
I think the Canadian is about to be disqualified.0
-
Unbelievable as Canadian loses his serve to go 2 -1 down in 3Rd set and launches a ball at lightening speed straight into the umpires left eye. What a shiner and automatic default. Unbelievable Jeff1
-
Lost point, hit ball in frustration, unfortunately the ball hit umpire in the eye. Disqualified. Edmonds 2 sets up so would have probably won anyway.0

Edmunds had it won, but a shame for Canadian to lose like that.0

If I was the umpire I'd be speaking to Andrew Castle about contacting First4lawyers.0

Several missing due to injury though, no Tsonga, Monfils or Gasquet. With them available we wouldn't stand a chance. I still don't fancy our chances anywayCallumcafc said:It's incredible how many players France have available to them...

Pouille wins second set tie break against Edmund.0
-
Any time Edmund gets an opening, Pouille shuts the door on him... Still on serve in the third set, 3-2.0
-
Pouille breaks serve following game for 4-2.0
-
Pouille beat Edmund in three sets.
Evans struggling as well, down 1 set.0 -
France win the tie 3-0 after winning in the doubles too.
Oh well, there's always next year...0 -
At least Andy won't have to play tiring Davis Cup matches for the rest of the year...1
-
Thought Pouille played well, with some great drop shots. Edmonds didn't play badly just that Pouille was better. I like clay as a surface. France have a much better strength in depth & stronger club & regional tennis base than the UK & it showed.0

Always going to be a difficult tie on clay, without Andy and experienced players for France. Still very disappointed but gives Andy time to rest and recuperate.0
