Should Chris Powell apologise as well?

FFS, what is wrong with some people? Why on earth shouldn't managers celebrate when they win? Some people seem to get so uptight about things like this, I seriously wonder why they go to football. It can't be good for their health.

Uwe Rosler and Chris Powell are not in the same class league
As it happens I agree with you, but I wonder how many of the Wendies would.
Is that the team that bought themselves a trophy for coming second in the third tier ? Not sure they should be considered the arbiters of class.
  • By the time Powell swung on the crossbar there was hardly a Wednesday fan in the ground.

Was this the team coach or a supporters coach?

    The comparison is crazy.

I don't think there were many Fleetwood fans in the north or west stand celebrating with him. Powell was passionately celebrating with the fans. Rosler was doing nothing but trying to incite the Charlton fans.

Enough CCTV outside the ground/car park to identify the individuals involved.

I am not trying to dig out Chris Powell here. I absolutely loved him swinging on the crossbar. I do know though that lots of Wednesday fans took exception to it, though. It seems to me that there are clear parallels: Lot's of football fans from all clubs are just too precious about what opposition managers do and say.

Were you at the game ? Did you see what happened ? Two completely different scenarios

No. No. I'll take you word for it.

    What did he actually do?

Bit of fist pumping or something like sticking two fingers up at the crowd/giving them them a wanker sign?

Like ours for away games on a regular basis.

Arm raised victory salute in front of the covered end. Not offensive per se but pretty inflametry. Would have got a player in trouble if they had done a goal celebration like it

What route did it go? Back to the station or past Royal Oak?

Can only think of a situation with teenagers, and to be honest can't imagine many being around by the time Fleetwood left

Isn't there a width restriction by the level crossing?
Yes, but I can still get through.

    Rosler is a wanker.

Well this comment sticks out a bit! Are you justifying the attack?
Not at all, just Rosler is a classless manager who should apologize.
Right... so your comment was totally irrelevant to the thread?

Fair enough, this is Charlton Life.
Ultimately this wouldn't have happened if Rosler hadn't acted as he did. Very childish and petty behaviour from a few of our fans nevertheless
Unless you have information the rest of us don't, you have no way of knowing that.

And regardless, a gesture does not make violence acceptable, ethically or legally.

So do we know if it was fans or team coach? (Not that attacking either can be justified )

Also have Fleetwood stated that it was attacked by Charlton or just that it was attacked?

    Blimey.

If there's one thing Germans should avoid doing, it's arm raised salutes.
Did he don a helmet with a point on for added effect?
  • Is there any photographic evidence at all?

Might not even have been Charlton fans then

Barking up the wrong tree, clearly a lot of palarse fans left their game early......
  • As far as we know it didn't happen within the vicinity of the ground. At least not between The Valley itself, up Floyd Road and past the station. CCTV does not cover beyond that, but it didn't show anything up to that point.
Best guess is that something happened along Woolwich Road but Police said they weren't aware and so didn't have any information on it when asked.
I'm sure more info/extent of the incident will emerge in due course.

Club going to respond on social media Olly as fans are putting 2+2 together and making 5 online? Not saying our fans are or are not responsible (I was home by this point) but seems irresponsible of Fleetwood Towns media team to put up what they did on Twitter giving impression happened very close to ground by our fans when clearly was further away as CCTV has apparantly shown.

And they said reported to police but police said to club no record of it. All very strange and something is amiss.

A shameful incident. However it could be argued that if fleetwood can't handle a few london lads having a bit of fun they should yld go back to non league.

In future fleetwood should stick to what they are good at; Making cough sweets and being Blackpool without the glamour.
