Much as I like what is written in the OP, I think you missed a tricked. Perhaps if you send it to anyone / anywhere else, you could include something along the lines of:

"Much as we want Ms Meire to leave our club, we think it would be unfair on the rest of the football community in this country if she were to attain any position of responsibility within the FA."
