Stand up, show up
We all know that our owner is a silly old fool and we all know that our CEO is a clueless incompetent. They have both demonstrated that on numerous occasions.
But tomorrow we are going to beat Millwall after 20 years of misery , you need to forget our idiot ownership and you need to be there to see it.
Boycotters , the disaffected, the lapsed, the disinterested, the driven away, the disappointed.
Tomorrow is the day to reaffirm who you support.
We will win

The fans will give 100% support, but can you guarantee the team will give 100% effort ?1

By all accounts the last game was great, players up for it and a breath of fresh air, renewed hope someone even said.
What usually happens after that scenario in CAFC land is eleven turn up the following game looking completely disinterested.
Plus we're playing Millwall.0 -
First Millwall derby at the Valley since the '50s that no-one from my family will be at.
Just sell the club.11 -

I'll be there and will give 100 %support to the team.
Fully understand the fans who will not be attending as I've boycotted enough games myself.
Roland out5 -
I live in Spain. I hate the regime. If I lived back in the UK, I'd be at the Valley today supporting the team. It's time to win.
Respect to the boycotters, and 100% Roland out, but we want some football cheer-it's january.2 -
Cheers Group hug too?scabbyhorse said:Calling all Charlton supporters

The thought of us winning today, has caused to stop my boycott of buying a ticket. Still as a customer, I can do that.0

I wasn't going but I've buckled in for this one. Today is the day I finally get to see my club beat Millwall.
40 odd years and I've seen us beat arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool but never Millwall. One for my bucket list.0 -

This is my first ever Millwall match. We haven't beaten them since before I was born, so hopefully I'll be there for when that changes.
I think this is our best chance of beating them in years. Magennis is coming in off the back of a hat-trick, Watt has a point to prove, Holmes should be back...
I'm strangely optimistic for once.0 -
I'm pragmatically pessimistic, as ever, for this fixture. And hating myself for breaking the boycott. It's the hope that kills you.0

I wobbled just now when I found out that my wife and daughters are going to the cinema this afternoon, but I just don't think I can take walking back to the car in the cold with the sound of 'You'll never beat Millwall' in my ears.0

Of course there will more supporters there today than any other match this season. For the majority of our fans, it's a fixture that means more than most; for some boycotters the additional excitement and anticipation may be enough for them so suspend their absenteeism. As for calling for people to show up though, I take the opposite view. As a genuine local derby, it will make far more impact if the stands are empty today than any other game. I mean no disrespect to the other teams in this division but the majority of them are hardly a big draw, consequently the empty terraces can be explained-away to an extent as a natural consequence of third-rate, third-tier football. Not today though. Every empty seat is a testimony to the 'clueless incompetence' of those running our club.
For those going to the match, do whatever you want to support the team but please remember the CEO is still at war with us, so please spare the time to give her and her clueless puppet-master some stick. I hope you see a good match and the win that we've all been waiting so long for.
For those not going, congratulations on making the toughest of decisions. Thank you for continuing your boycott on a day when there's more temptation to go. One day we'll get our club back and will feel able to go again without all this shit.17 -
Great post Stig.
I haven't set foot in The Valley in over two years now (bar the Boro game to protest) and it breaks my heart.
This was a very tough decision - I nearly buckled in the week, but even with a free ticket it just wouldn't feel right.
An over-privileged poisonous rich girl in charge of my club which she and her people have destroyed.
A puppet manager, a player farm, a megalomaniac owner - IF we win, it would be a hollow victory. WOuld feel good, but not the same.
OF COURSE I will miss the atmosphere, banter with mates, and wanting to get one over Millwall (last saw us beat them in 91, 92 - whenever it was at Upton Park), and get some payback from the sheer humiliation we've suffered in matches against them home and away in recent years.
Maybe people are better at blocking this out than me and let's face it it will be momentarily easy in the North Upper, and probably be a good atmosphere.
The fact that this people make me feel like this, have to justify to myself absolutely disgusts me - my local football club who I have supported for years.
But, IF we win at full time, that Scouse puppet will come over to celebrate WITH us, then I would feel completely raped (for want of a better word - apologies) by him, Duchatelet and all the others involved in this farce.
Hope everyone enjoys their day. I'm gonna lump on a Charlton win for insurance to soften any pangs of regret.

About a dozen customers in a queue for the NHS call centre this morning. All mad.2

If you're lumping on, it should be on Millwall to soften the blow. Can't imagine the feeling of being beaten again and having lost money too.boggzy said:Great post Stig.
