  • Chandos/Opera Rooms bottom of st Martins Lane
Coal Hole some way down the strand towards law courts
  • Coal holes good, chandos is a bit weird
  • or the Sherlock Holmes Northumberland Avenue
  • The Sherlock Holmes is alright, can get a bit touristy but does a decent beer.

The Ship and Shovel is just before that, does several Badger Ales, might have to stand outside though as gets busy up until about eight.
  • Whats the pub that splits in two near the Sherlock???
  • The Ship and Shovel underneath The Arches. Weird pub in that they have a bar on each side of the road/alley.

Or go and drink wine from the cask in Gordon's Wine Bar. Brilliant place.
  • That's The Ship and Shovel fella.
  • the beer is great in the Chandos, Ayingerbrau pills knock yer ed off and the ales not bad either
  • The Two Brewers at the top of St Martin's Lane is a really good pub, good beer and can usually get a table.
  • Walkers on Whitehall isn bad for real ale
  • Sponsored links:

  • Anyone remember the Cockney Tavern, used to get quite hairy in there on a Saturday night, I think Next stands on that corner now.
  • (Welsh?) Harp opposite the post office. Narrow pub but does the guest ale....and great sausage rolls.
  • The Marquis of Granby up by the Post Ofiice does a fine pint of Spitfire

    That's a good pub - good shout.
  • the nell gwynne isn't too bad a pub. though a little smelly in the alley.
  • I use the Nell qwynne on occasions especially if the cricket is on but it only needs 10 people in the to be packed.
  • Decent juke box in the Nell, and the beer's good
  • The Nell Gwynne has the steepest steps ever down to the loo.

Death trap after a few bevvies.

    Thought it had closed down.
