We're definitely closing in on the January Transfer Window now.

    Wolves have sacked Walter Zenga!!

On the one hand I am mildly amused at the ludicrousness of Wolves sacking an excellent manager, replacing him with a crap one and then sacking him in no time at all.

On the other hand, I genuinely fear for the future of football in this country. No organisation with any power from the government down takes any interest in protecting the long-term welfare of the sport. The message is "if you've got the money you're welcome to do whatever you want with no regard at all for the real supporters are left to deal with the fall out when you get bored and go and find another toy".
This, the EFL has become a toy for anybody with a few bob to have a go. It will all end in tears and the fans will be left with nothing like they started with as we know all too well.

Yes, was in charge last Saturday

Can't see beyond David Moyes next.

Nine Championship clubs appointed new managers before the start of the 2016-17 season, but Zenga's departure from Wolves means only four of them remain in their posts.

Roberto di Matteo, Paul Trollope, Nigel Pearson and Alan Stubbs left Aston Villa, Cardiff, Derby and Rotherham respectively in October.

Zenga. The most predictable sackingvof the season.

    Now Wigan sack Caldwell

No surprise at Zenga, said when he was appointed it was ridiculous as he'd managed countless foreign clubs and done nothing at any of them.

Very surprised at Wigan though, the guy gets them promoted, and then doesn't even get 3-4 months of the following season in a much tougher league before he's out. Were Wigan expecting to challenge for promotion?!

    Now Wigan sack Caldwell

Ludicrous decision, what did they expect him to achieve back in the Championship? As it is they're only one win from safety.

Russell Slade is rapidly rising up the list of longest serving managers...

Modern football is utterly, utterly shit, ruined by money, greed and feeble governance. If CAFC was to disappear (entirely likely) I would turn my back on it completely.
I'm halfway there already. Used to be a priority when it's on TV but can't be arsed with it nowadays.

Bottom of our League Shrewsbury appoint middle of League 2 Grimsby's Paul Hurst as manager .. frying pan to fire ? ..
while neither club is exactly a giant, Grimsby must surely have the bigger potential .. this is a case of a successful manager joining a struggling club, not a successful manager very rapidly falling out of favour and getting sacked

NEEEEXT - Gary Caldwell has been sacked by Wigan

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3871718/Wigan-Athletic-sack-Gary-Caldwell-just-18-months-charge-23rd-Championship.html

Won League One after a poor start... Worked with Jason Pearce - Definitely not the sort of Manager we want ;)

An odd move, career wise, but I'd rather live in Shrewsbury than Grimsby/Cleethorpes!

The transfer window and ending of emergency loans mean that you have to bring someone in now, if you want them to be able to "wheel and deal". You'd have to be a really stupid Chairman to sack someone on the 1st February

Any idea what odds you'd get on Karl Robinson being sacked on 1st February? Got to be worth a tenner.....

    Wow they never sack Managers...

Ignoring all the different spells under Gradi; Steve Davis was only their second boss since 1983!!

Chesterfield have just appointed Gary Caldwell as their new Manager

Very strange move by someone who won this League impressively last season with Wigan... If he then gets Chesterfield relegated this year it could be instant undoing of his reputation
