Yes - I think Millwall train their younger teams there. Attending my sons Rugby evening pre-season training session there a couple of years ago, Millwall youth were training on the astro. Having played amateur football at a reasonable level (including a lot of games at Thames Poly) I was struck by how inventive and well executed the training sessions were. Very different from the seemingly hours of shuttle runs and jogs around the field perimeter we had to endure.

Think this year the whole academy has moved there. Parking is now a disaster zone down there.
  • Blackheath mini's and juniors will be leaving next year to go to Hervey Road if the council can sort themselves out.

The football pitches are looking very lush, must be a lot of turd on there

Always have a chat with The Treasurer when we attend.

Story is, it's a tie up with the Spanners (spit) before a move back to a new facilty in Blackheath, name escapes me but it is located near the Rec off of Shooters Hill Road. For 12 months only but i went the w/e it looks slightly more permanent to me.

Thought for a meh! Game in shit weather it was not a bad experience. Pitch was immaculate but reckon once the weather takes a dive the experience will deteriorate rapidly. Atmosphere nowhere near as good as at the Rec.

Note. Thanks Threadkiller, Hervey Road it is.

Played for them from the age of 7 all the way up to the second team. Not been in about a year but will look to go this season more often.

  • Quite a few home fans go to my Dad's pub before the game, it's only a short walk and there is a much better range of beers on offer.

  • I used to live near the Rectory Field in my youth. What has happened to that?

First team games at Well Hall only. The yoots and such still play at the Rectory.

Not sure how permanent the move is, but four new floodlight pylons, brand new ground equipment and a raffle with proceeds going to ground development, i asked "for here or Rectory?", she replied "Well Hall".

They instigated a £3 car parking charge as well yesterday. That was sneaky!

It would have been nice to turn on the floodlights on saturday. A lot of tries scored. Bar was empty upstairs. Tannoy announcer at the end of the game was very Hi-de-hi

I was always under the impression the tannoy was crap at the Rectory but apparantly that is how she actually talks...
