    You are correct.

    That said he 'only' won the French and Wimbledon. He never won the US or Australian opens.

    In fairness back in those days the Australian was not attended by all the leading players.

    He is right up there along with McEnroe and Sampras, but Borg retired when McEnroe finally got his mark - then it was the era of McEnroe and Lendl before Sampras took over with the odd win for Agassi (I might have got the groupings wrong there!!).

    The thing with Nadal, Federer and Djokovic is that they've been around together which for me makes them stand out. That isn't like me and I have arguments with my boys about fighters and footballers where I live in the past - Best was the greatest but my sons are convinced it's Messi or Ronaldo (either Christiano or Goofy). But with tennis I favour the modern era.

    In terms of records (if you accept he lost a lot of his career because he turned professional) it's arguable that Rod Laver is the best ever - and when I was younger I agreed with that. He wouldn't have the physique (even with the training regime that's around today) to live with the boys now.

    I think tennis used to have more specialists, so that you'd get a whole group of clay courters dominating Paris, while the serve and volleyers would dominate Wimbledon. The modern player and equipment seems to have equalised things between the surfaces so that the tennis is now far more similar than in the era of Sampras at Wimbledon and Kuerten etc in Paris

    Djokovic's fitness hasn't been tested at all

    If he plays Murray in the final and it goes to 5 sets, it's be Murray's tiredness against a fresh Djokovic whose wrist hasn't been fully tested yet in a tough match

    Finally Murray is just looking like a machine..really consistent and tough. Making the world number 6 look mediocre.

    He's really solidified his second serve now. It's not anything special but it's decent and not the massive weakness it once was. It was the last glaring flaw in his game and he seems on a real mission to get #1 ranking this year too.

    I hope Novak is lacking match sharpness if they play on Sunday, but I reckon Murray may beat him anyway. He's playing that well and with that much belief right now. Feels like its his moment at last.

    Murray needs to focus, crowd seems to be on Nishikori's side but Murray just has to finish the job off.
