Would be nice, but think it will be a bridge too far for Iceland, besides they only beat really shit teamsMendonca In Asdas said:Will JBG and the boys do the business against the French tonight?

Hope Iceland do it.....had a cheeky flutter on both teams to score in 90 minutes with Iceland nicking it. However also had a bet on Griezeman to score during the match as well.0
-
Don't think so. But good luck to JBG. Hope he enjoys the stage and has a good game.0
-
Come on Iceland.0

Hope Iceland smash the frogs!0

They sung that French anthem quicker than we would get through Valley Floyd Road after a last minute goal.3

Johann at 25/1 for 1st goal scorer tonight. Massive odds when you consider the odds of players who aren't even starting.2

Had a couple of quid on him.Sage said:Johann at 25/1 for 1st goal scorer tonight. Massive odds when you consider the odds of players who aren't even starting.

Thought Gylfi was going to turn on that and thunder it into the net. Nice run by JBG a couple of minutes afterwards, touch just let him down though1

Too easy for France, that. 1-0 Giroud.0
-
Well that's that. France aren't England, they won't throw this away1

Does JBG ever actually close anyone down?0
-
Glenn Hoddle is so annoying1

This could get messy0

2-0 inside 20 minutes.
France doing to Iceland what England should've done.0 -
Have you watched Iceland's games in this tournament? All of the team defend and close people down, but they don't press really high up, they concentrate on good positioning and structure, and JBG is usually found on the edge of his own box as part of that tactic.RedMist said:Does JBG ever actually close anyone down?

I said the other day that when France beat Iceland 5-0 we'd know and appreciate how shit England are.
Well, we're well on track!0 -
That's an understatement VG.ValleyGary said:Glenn Hoddle is so annoying

Careful, that's potentially the New England coach you're talking about...ValleyGary said:Glenn Hoddle is so annoying
He is a massively annoying twat though!0 -
I don't think France would have thrashed us though. Different game.Addickted2U said:I said the other day that when France beat Iceland 5-0 we'd know and appreciate how shit England are.

It looked like Frances 1st goal came from him standing and watching instead of closing down that long ballsam3110 said:

Iceland look about as toothless against France as England looked toothless against Iceland.0

Please ITV, get somebody who understands the English language! Glenn, fatigueness is not a word.5

Watch Giroud. Not once does he come deep for the ball, he lets Payet and Greizman do it and the defence don't know whether to push up with them or drop deep to manage Giroud. They were caught pushing up for the first goal and now they're nervous.
Contrast that to Harry Kane, who for the first 2 games he played didn't touch the ball in the opposition penalty area and you can see why we're so easy to play against.
From a coaching and playing perspective we really lack intelligence and this game just highlights it.0 -
He probably meant fatiguitinessAddickted2U said:Please ITV, get somebody who understands the English language! Glenn, fatigueness is not a word.

He has done a good job of summarising the strengths of the "Icelantics".Addickted2U said:Please ITV, get somebody who understands the English language! Glenn, fatigueness is not a word.
